So I've found this old ATM wallet but obviously there's no network. Can I just throw it away? Does the coin only live on on the exchanges (and how do they do deposit/withdraw really)?

i dumped down to sweet 14 sats... i thought atm coin was pumping ... sweet visions of the worlds banking atm's embracing this coin...sadly i checked this lady ann out & remembered that the ticker ATM was wasted on simple autumn coin...
kept back a nice stash... just in case

The ticker isn't wasted. Since the project isn't going on, if another project become bigger than this one, it will be the legitimate user of the ATM ticker.

yes i like what pandacoin said i delete it all exept the wallet.dat
it sync before then now its stuck again maybe i will do it again

- Erase everything but your wallet.dat and config file in the coins appdata folder
- Reload wallet
After that you should be fine.
If you still have your wallet.dat, your coins are safe. This is the only place where they are.

You have two possibilities (that I am aware of) : send it to an exchange or to a member that you trust in to keep it for you, and the delete your wallet and download it again. The other possibility is to extract your wallet.dat from your wallet files and the delete your wallet and download it again. The wallet.dat way don't cost any transaction fee, dont need you to trust someone, but it can destroy of your coins if you don't do it carefully (like if you delete wallet.dat).
