I agree somewhat with this statement even i wouldn't go as far as killing a coin with it.
But in my opinion it's as well one of the worst choices for a project that aims mass adoption.
ERC-20 tokens are just difficulty to handle for the average joe that isn't mining/trading and new to crypto.

Everyone has the right to make their own choice, if you like the project, welcome, and if you do not like, then it's your right. Tokenization is the future, and not every project will develop its own blockchain, because it is expensive, and the network needs support. For this project token is the ideal solution.
