Is BTG currently unable to transfer money between major exchanges?I tried to transfer BTG from yobit to binance, but showed no withdrawals.

I believe it takes up to a day for exchange to add a coin.
All those exchanges listed on BTG website weren't connected to a real network with a real blockchain.
So it'll take time for BTG to be fully supported.

You said that you tried to transfer BTG to binance. How did you get BTG deposit address?

I like the choice of algo, I was mining Zcash but I'm thinking about switching my miner over to this one although I'm not sure if this coin is getting a lot of support since it seems to be just another Bitcoin fork  Roll Eyes
I think you worry too much about, BTG selection algorithm is very good, if after ETH to POS, so BTG will become even more popular, I now start to mining of BTG, if the team is working to develop, I think it would be our best choice.

Connected to suprnova and submitting shares how. Feeling a little excited. Last time I mined anything for bitcoin (real or fork), it was summer 2012 and, if I remember correctly, deepbit was still alive. How time flies.
Hats off to you Suprnova  been mining all day at other pools and your the first one to pay me right away. Infact the only one

Anyone have an idea what they set their difficulty adjustment max increase at? Seems to only be increasing by about 1% per block. Great for us, at the moment.

Edit: Tried to read the Github, and the difficulty discussions are a little above my head.  Cheesy

Wallet showing 8 years needed to synch with net... jesus...

Read a few posts above or click here:

Just an important note for everyone else to read in the future - I'm going to throw into question if people can actually fairly run simply a node at time of launch; there may be only certain parties that can really successfully connect to peers.

I've tried and failed - used official win10 exe from bitcoin's gold's github, opened port 8338, and even followed raffern's suggestion below of the bat file with the full list of nodes raffern provided, multiple instances of leaving it on for 20min, and no connections

"Connecting to peers" for 2-hours, tried multiple workarounds.

Current time: 3:11 AM UTC Monday, November 13, 2017

Others (again i question those who say they subsequently got it to work):

For anyone stuck syncing their wallet. Create a runme.bat file in the bitcoin gold folder using the following, then save as a .bat file and run

bitcoin-qt.exe -server
addnode=109.192.23.101
addnode=88.99.5.24

(snip)

addnode=143.207.67.209

Wallet -      This is a pre-release test build - use at your own risk - do not use for mining or merchant applications

what does this mean? I thought the official bitcoin gold client was all we needed?

I tried checking out version 0.15 instead of master from the github source, and that took the pre-relase message away.  However I'm still not syncing any blocks (ubuntu 14.04)

I have downloaded the official Bitcoin Gold Core Client, and it is running fine... and I am just not able to connect to anyone in the network. Any guidance for me? I have port 8338 open... do I have to boostrap to the Bitcoin Core Client?

OK, I found above the answer. Add a specific IP node via the command:
addnode "78.193.221.106" "add"

Issue resolved, now I am synching with that node, and found a second one (maybe via the same first one?).

I have downloaded the official Bitcoin Gold Core Client, and it is running fine...

where you download it?

From the offiical website, it just went live:

https://bitcoingold.org/downloads/

i have donwloaded direct on ghithub .. but i need a node list for add ... where can find node list?

This nodes not work!
Not working for me either. Still stuck on 0 connections

Didn't really got the point of your statement.

Is anyone else getting disconnects and tons of invalid shares from Suprnova?  I've been mining Zencash, Zcash, BTCZ, ZCL for months now and none of them ever did this.  Using DSTM miner here.

Should be ok now

I've seen pump and dumps on ico's and random alt coins - could this be one for gpu mining!! Wink

If anyone knows of a mining difficulty chart for bitcoin gold (like the one on coinwarz for ethereum and a few other coins) I'd be really interested to take a look over the next couple days. I think I'll wait until the hype settles down to start mining (although if it moons I'm going to be really annoyed with myself!)

Yeah not sure if I should mine BTG to point to nicehash. Guessing point to Nicehash now and when the craze settles down, mine Btg.
