BTG sounds like a well-planned scam, which would put a fertile ground for the "replay attack" attacks designed to steal funds naive and / or greedy investors .
Steer clear of a wide berth, or at least wait 3-4 weeks to when the real truth and purpose can not detect.

Or just read through the code on github like I did and many others already have

If you can't understand it then trust the ones that do

Attention! Pool is currently syncing to the BTG chain and will be up shortly!
Blockchain Height should be 499407 to start mining. Current value: 493256
This pool supporting ccminer tpruvot for equihash!

8000 blocks??? 55 days of premining?Huh

No its extra low difficulty probably be 3-5 hours

Extra low diff with 5000 miners working at the pool? I don't understand.

The difficulty during the premine is hardcoded low and will go to normal after 8000 blocks

Ah, ok. Thank you!

really great jobs devs,
you said your premine would take 10 minutes but its still going on (2 hours passed since the release time)

so i lost around  200 hundreds dollars worth of hash into nothing ,well done great way of repaying my trust into your project

edit : my bad i misread 10 minutes by block as total 10 minutes,

but still you should have start mining before release date or you could just warn all pools or make a official pool about the situation.

You mean mine in private ? Thats not going to work everyone would cry foul and as soon as the network went live everyone would notice this is the best way you have a choice of participating or sitting out and waiting

actually what is happening now is mining privately , and the worst part is pools and miners didnt know that they thought they could start it at 7 utc

By privately I mean offline on a local network

I have downloaded the official Bitcoin Gold Core Client, and it is running fine... and I am just not able to connect to anyone in the network. Any guidance for me? I have port 8338 open... do I have to boostrap to the Bitcoin Core Client?

OK, I found above the answer. Add a specific IP node via the command:
addnode "78.193.221.106" "add"

Issue resolved, now I am synching with that node, and found a second one (maybe via the same first one?).

Why didn't they do a private premine? What a waste of energy using thousands of GPUs connected just for the devs. Shame on you, greedy devs!
