This was known from the start it originally was 16000 blocks but was halved
$BTG Pool will go live in about 3-5h. This time is needed as the Devs are currently mining their premine (via the dev pool 
) You can mine already but it would be wasted hash as you'd just contribute to the premine and not get paid yourself until premining has ended

hmm.. do people actually realize that they're currently mining the premine for the dev team ? they won't be getting paid at all (on any pool) before the premining has ended

I would think that the premining would have been completed before the official launch. So now we can watch while they gorge themselves? 
as far as i can see they announced nothing. no block size or anything was confirmed
