But aside from the potential listing to another exchange, what is the major target this year for BGL to accomplish? Because looking at the current exchange, they haven't improved much. Maybe they need to offer a specific service or product that can entice crypto users. And I think, a lot of crypto users don't even know that BGL exists. We will see if there will be a change in price before and after the halving date, a week from now.

In terms of promotion they have an ongoing signature campaign and in fact, helps the price to improve slightly, this coin is only a year old and coming to its first halving, many are looking on this project now, I hope there is an effort on the part of whales and developers to get Bitgesell in a big market to get more investors to look on the project, signature campaign and listed inn big exchange will help the cause.

Exactly and we are seeing that. I don't usually participate in bounty but I found this project interesting.

Imagine, the circulating supply is only 10,047,830 BGL, the price is really undervalued as of now, so I would continue to help this project grow in my small way for the benefit of the investors and people who promote this project at the same time. Hopefully time will come that we will be able to benefit the bull run.

Theoretically, after a halving, over time, the price of a coin can rise in value. Should BGL be viewed as a store of value similar to Bitcoin, or is it created for what else?  Is there a link to a roadmap?

Only 21M total supply, one good exchange will send the price to mars. Investors should hold it as a store of value.

Usually, if there is a moment of halving in POW coins, the price begins to increase. I wonder how it will be here? I see the ads, I see the signatures of this coin. Maybe now is the time to buy BGL.

I stopped doing this it's been 3 days of a running node for 15 hours and my address or information is not showing on nodes participating...
I have a running node for Windows and for Linux. I don't see my Windows node in this list https://bglcontest.bitaps.com/nodes_list either. But run command BGL-cli getpeerinfo for the rented Linux VPS I see a node for Windows...

Windows firewall is set to allow incoming connections on any TCP port, still not working. Ubuntu doesn't recognize the wifi card. Spent way more than 5 minutes to make it work.

I am up for more than a week now, but I can't find my node in the list. Running on windows.

If you run BGL on windows, it functions as expected, but to get your node fully working as full node, you have to allow incoming connections because otherwise windows firewall would block them by default, so other nodes won't see yours. Port is TCP 8454/8455 for BGL mainnet.
Or you can run node on Linux (e.g. on affordable VPS - there are instructions here, it's really easy https://bglcontest.bitaps.com/node_setup)

I can't figure out where is the best place to install the node?

https://bglcontest.bitaps.com/node_setup - here it is written about the operating system on Ubunty

https://bitgesell.medium.com/how-to-run-your-own-bitgesell-node-in-less-than-5-minutes-1b7f565f1ed0 -  here it is written about the operating system on Windows

Where would it be better to install the node, on the Mac Os is it even possible?
I use both choice Windows and Linux node. Don't forget to remove the "" if you use Windows. Linux option is preferable because the cost of the Linux server is less.

It would be nice to hear from the developers how they evaluate the work of the nodes and conduct the lottery.

Hi guys!
The nodes are picked randomly throughout the whole week range. Nodes are crawled hourly.
The more hours node is online - the better the chance for it to be in winners list.
It does not make too much sense to bring up nodes for short time when the period ends (and we see this behavior lately, up to 40+ nodes appear).
It would be more efficient to bring 2-3 nodes online constantly.
probability of win for 40 nodes for 4 hours (~160 points) roughly equals 1 node online for 1 full week (24*7 = ~168 points)

You can see hourly updated nodes list at: https://bglcontest.bitaps.com/nodes_list (and can check that it's better to have constantly running node to win rewards)

Hi guys!

Matt created a PR towards Ren multichain integration (https://github.com/renproject/multichain/pull/78). What this means:

- Ren is a project that can act as trustless solution that can integrate multiple blockchains. I am sure you've heard about renBTC ERC20 token. The difference between renBTC and WBTC is significant: both represent bitcoin on ETH mainnet, but in case of WBTC it's custodians that act as trusted parties holding BTC when WBTC is issued and burn WBTC when BTC is released back. In Ren project, custodiary access is distributed so no single entity knows the private key that holds coins on a chain.

- BGL has significant BTC compatibility in terms of RPC, block structure and UTXOs approach, making it a great candidate for integration with Ren.

- Making Ethereum and Binance SC token integration could provide ability to make some DeFi-related products, such as providing liquidity mining, staking and DEX (Uniswap, Pancakeswap etc).

Hopefully this is achievable, and if anyone has connections with Ren project maintainers we are very much open to communication and if you could drop them a line about Bitgesell or help with this moving forward, it would be super great too.

When we have integration with Ren (or other proper ETH/BSC integration), we will launch hackathon BGL "DeFi Space Invaders" for any DeFi related applications.

It is better to use the 18 or 20 version of Ubuntu. I tried to deploy node for Ubuntu 16. The problem is that it lacks or minor versions of many libraries. In his case that libc6 version 2.27 and higher requires libgcc1, and libgcc1 requires libc6. It's an endless cycle.

Hi, they can use that version for 16.04, it has static libraries in the wallets https://github.com/Original-Tasty/bitgesell/releases/download/v0.1.6/bitgesell_linux-gnu_1604_x64.tar.gz
Thank you, it helped me and now I'm back on my game! I synchronized the chain, but so far I have not found my node in the list. I'll wait.
Glad it helped  Smiley, probably that the list updates every hour so have to wait a bit yes

I see you already in list now

I am trying to run my node using a VPS with Ubuntu 16.04.7 LTS installed. When installing the bitgesell_0 package.1. 2_amd64. deb I get the following error. Tell me what I can do?

Code:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 bitgesell : Depends: libc6 (>= 2.27) but 2.23-0ubuntu11.2 is to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

It appears the .deb file is made from 18.04, but you're using 16.04
