Does anyone know why this U.S. citizen prohibition thing happened?

They're most likely caving to US regulatory pressure, I think all the blocked coins/tokens/whatever had ICOs and have little to no real utility, and therefore there's a high likelihood they'll be treated as securities by the US SEC, which means it's either not possible or it requires more red tape to allow so-called unaccredited investors buy or sell them.

Hi;

I guess this is more than that. Bill Sharira was one of adviser Storm project and now...

Apart from around 3 people that post constantly saying Bittrex is a scam - nobody says it.

those "3 people" are the most persistent ones or probably the newly scammed people. otherwise we said it 1.5 years ago are aren't willing to waste any more time repeating it.
majority of active traders left Bittrex because of it and that is why their rank dropped from #1 down to #100+ in 2017 and Binance grow overnight!
also the starter of the topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=96390 what more do you want?

I'm not sure why but I still find Bittrex as one of the best exchanges out there, especially when one single exchange (Binance) is trying to take over the whole crypto industry. I keep supporting Bittrex because I personally feel horrible seeing Binance destroy the coins of their choice and CZ thinking so lordly (he literally wished to reorganize the BTC chain recently). I don't think that Bittrex has ever been hacked since its creation, which is a very positive point for its reputation. Moreover, all (or maybe most of?) those complaints that were registered under the feedback of that profile that you shared seemed to have one single problem: unavailability of KYC when it was requested by Bittrex (I know that it wasn't very ethical of Bittrex to just ask for KYC out of nowhere, but you need to be ready for this sort of stuff when you're using a service registered in the US). Those who were willing to provide their verification documents never faced any issue(s) with Bittrex AFAIK; I'm one of those.

I just do not want CZ to have complete control over this whole industry, that's all. Let's keep some competition among exchanges alive! Roll Eyes

i feel the same about Binance mainly because they keep creating centralized tokens and dump on their customers! and also because of their DEX which is anything but decentralized.
but Bittrex is still dishonest because of  what they did. it is not just about verification but because they blocked accounts of thousands of people because they were coming from certain countries and that meant that they practically stole millions of dollars worth of cryptocurrnecies from these users. note that they had absolutely no issue with people from these countries before and this rule was applied overnight without warning and their accounts were closed without letting them verify or anything.

they really have some nerve thinking that people will forget about their stolen coins! :\  ~WE NEVER FORGET, WE NEVER FORGIVE~

This is true but there is also another apsect, according to Raja_MBZ Bittrex is an excellent exchange that he never ever had issues with, just a few people come here to post negative things about Bittrex but on the whole it seems pretty solid exchange to me.

Bittrex also suffers from 'wallet maintenance' problems much more frequently than Binance. Seeing thhe whole KYC scam with people from 'bad' countries being locked out of their accounts overnight left a very sour taste in my mouth.

Then other exchanges need to step up their game try harder when it comes to competing. That means offering better services such as moving to friendlier jurisdictions to avoid KYC for cryptocurrency deposits and withdrawals. Binance only grew so huge due to being better than their competition.

That's true. CZ's great policies pushed Binance (BNB) way up; Binance is undoubtedly a very good exchange right now and better than all crypto-exchanges out there. BUT, IMO, if you're having a good time with any other exchange, you've just gotta defend it when someone else is trying to bash it, especially when someone so powerful around is envisioning the rearrange of blocks on the one-and-only BTC chain just to clean his own sh!t. Roll Eyes If CZ could imagine it today, he can do it tomorrow if remains this powerful.

CZ's Binance maybe is on top of the food chain by now but still there are exchanges out there that are being used by many traders. I myself is using not 1 or two trading platforms, so that means CZ s not in control of my trades. Other traders also prefer sites that are locally available like in our case here in the Philippines, coins.ph they recently launched coins pro.
Binance clearly has the control, we cannot say we are using this exchange or the other exchange and that means CZ is not in control.
Look at the data to back our opinion as that would tell the real picture.

To date, binance is the no 1 exchange, you can see it here - https://coinmarketcap.com/rankings/exchanges/

That's 1.5 billion usd 24 hours trading volume while bittrex is only at $55 million usd, that only 3.6% of Binance volume and that speaks why Binance in control.

Yes others need to step up to stop Binance monopolising the crypto-sphere but he did rightly point out how silly it was of the Binance owner to make a fool of himself by mentioning rolling back the Bitcoin chain was an option to recover the stolen BTC as if he owned it  Roll Eyes

And there was not much better with other IEO's - It doesn't prove too good about bittrex condition

Is there any reason within their TOS for them to disable your account?

I had my own share of problems in 2017 with having my account disabled and not getting any help from the support, but I somehow made it work to get my coins out of that shitty site.
But stealing coins and selling personal info on the darkweb , is that sarcasm or do you have any proof for that?

they stole my coins maliciously and do your own research into this group they closely tied in with the cryptopia movie unfolding as well..stay tuned.  Cool #popcorn

Bittrex is not tied in with Cryptopia. This type of FUD is why no one takes this forum seriously these days. Huh Huh

Got an email from Bittrex that says that all funds must be withdrawn by June 9th, 2019. Not fun. Now I have to set up multiple wallets in my computer.

Yes, they've recently contacted the New Yorkers regarding that as they're suspending their services within the New York. Try a multi-asset wallet (such as Exodus) if you don't want to get the wallet for each and every other project.

I did mention about this upcoming suspension of Bittrex's services within the New York back in April:

Also that means as for NY account holders, we cannot do any trading if we try to click trade etc right?

Yes, New Yorkers can no longer use Bittrex for trading, as I mentioned earlier:

Seems like New Yorkers have to say goodbye to Bittrex:

The decision made by NYDFS yesterday only impacts our customers in New York state. This is not a restriction on any other location in the United States or internationally.

Wow, I feel sorry for you! Nothing is worse than missing to sell when something's pumping hard (especially that hard).
