This coin has been mined by ASIC for quite a long time before its hard fork. These cheap ASIC coins, initially insta-mined cheap coins, plus a large amount of supplies in total make it very difficult to increase its price.

Yes normally many coins are minded with ASICS if the algo allows it., making it non-profitable for gpu miner. And here it is an algo which cannot be mined via asics.
