The clock starts when the coins go in. Doesn't matter after that, as far as coin-age. Re-open in a week, they'll be a week older.
Going to be interesting see this coin battle with Mintcoin. Both have a similar concept.

why does the network hashrate show as 24.21 gigs if were done mining. and on PoS
