Why not buy Bitsum now around 8 - 10 satoshi, then hodl them tightly and wait till it hit 30 satoshi or somewhere around that point to take profit.

Is this coin dead or not? I can't access my wallet for months. 
What happened to your wallet? I think this coin is more alive than dead. But the price on the stock exchange makes me think differently.Bitsum started at 1 satoshi, so it's normal to witness its falls to below 10 satoshi after hitting all time highs around 30 satoshi.
However, the project is likely need more time to get more necessary developments from its team.
