Yes, it was down for about an hour due to the heavy DDOS attack. Hardware updated! Will investigate the attack. May be related to this big miner. Someone is trying to harm the network, someone is scared of XCI. I like that, coin will go to 100000 satoshi one day!
I see it online again. Great. Thanks,

There is some person attacking the new CryptoNote networks. He is pumping the difficulty and leaving after pump, making network very slow. Network will adjust, but will need some time (calculation is based on the last 720 blocks). There is the same problem with Karbowanec http://democats.org/blockchain/?name=karbowanec (last block more than 5 hours ago).
Don't worry, try to help network and switch your miner to XCI. Any new block the difficulty can go down and block time will be 2 min again.
Hello. At Karbowanec we were trying to stop Nicehash incursions on low diff at pool level but with no luck. All pool operators were asked to change max diff to 9999 to stop Nicehash. And all did. Except http://krb.cryptonotepool.com/. He forgot to change at previous difficulty fall. And again today pool was mining at hash rate 738.23 KH/sec and no payouts... So I judge that this time it was pool operator himself. This shows that trying to regulate this at pools level won't work. There always be some one abusing this and causing network delays afterwards.

I doubt that CryptoNote pool operators can help with changing their pools diff. Are you sure this person is using the Nicehash? I think changing the 720 blocks to lower value will not solve that problem too and can cause some additional problems in future. All we need to do is to promote the blockchain to have more miners. If the network hashrate will go to 1mh without this miner he will not be able to harm someone.
Time is our ally.
There are few miners using Nicehash. I know this for sure, some of miners even confirm that, however not those mining at very high speed. There are two ways of mining using Nicehash - hire relatively small hashrate for longer period and have steady income or  - as in our case - hire Nicehash for an hour with 0.5 ~1.0 Mh (which is a lot comparing to network average 0.05 ~0.1 Mhash) when difficulty is low and mine a bunch of easy blocks then leave when difficulty rises. I call this Multipool effect. Other non CN currencies did have similar troubles from multipools.
You are right, if there will be average network hashrate about 1 Mhash such invasion won't work. But judging from hashrates of  CN currencies it is not that easy to achieve such level. Only Monero has really big hashrate and those currencies that have merged mining with Monero. Bytecoin and XDN (after they introduced merged mining) are secured against such Nicehash mining. To prevent this type of mining you need to whether get big average network hashrate or change algo in the way that difficulty will adapt more quickly. We will see what happen in the second case soon Smiley

Since two days no payments... this big miner is killing it imo.  Cry
Where the other miners? Join the pools!

No big miners, network hashrate is based on the last 720 blocks
You can see, last Block Found: about 7 hours ago!

No enough hashrate on network actually for that big diff to find blocks quickly

Only arround 50 blocks found in this last 2 days

It wont last long. Because its highly valuable, someone might aboard soon. Hint: tonight.

As I said previously, ATM it can take up to about 24h before your mined coin shows up in the balance.
I am mining at about 1.5 kh/s and waiting too. Just klick on the tab "Pool Blocks" and you will see how long confirmations take ATM.

Maybe, but he doesn't seem to mine anything. The blocks go to gorillapool and cryptonotepool Huh
The only bothering thing is the very high diff. which is slowing everything down.

I was mining at a 3-4 KH/S on gorillapool.  I did not get any coin for 24 hours (I stopped yesterday) . How can you tell that the coins are going to gorillapool ?
simple you check the found block page of the pool you can see how much block the pool found

and you can see currently  gorilla found most of the blocks, so it s mean most of the hashpower is there

and so you can determinate that the high difficulty (what is not droping) is wind

Uh someone must be putting a big hash into farming all that weed.  Shocked I sense u guys are one post away from calling this another 51% attempt. How many 51%'s have there been up until now? Let chew the cud who could an evil miner whale be? I can recall I seen a hipster guy in my neighborhood with a pyramid stack of ASICs on his way to a new pickup truck. Chances are thats ur cannabis attacker.

XCI Coin is ASIC resistant. This BIG miner is a small cpu botnet or huge GPU mining rigs set. 300 khs is equal to about 500-600 GPUs.
