Yes, Virginia, we have a Catcoind.exe compiled on Windows for Windows.   Grin  It's passing basic tests so I feel very good about the viability of this compile.  Life's good and getting better in CATsylvania. Smiley

The 'dev environment 2.0' is working well so far.

Now, switching gears to start the last step - compiling the wallet.

I think what's Marverick is trying to say is that right now a solution is in it final phases, the code is done, linux and Mac wallet are already compiled and what they are waiting for is the Windows wallet.

So sadly right now is not possible to tweak code because it could break it but other suggestions should be implemented in future code (@ ZeroDrama I don't understand why your replies are a tad too agressive and this is not the first time, even a well educated 12 yo would have written a reply like the above not to mention Nullus made a proper suggestion... but anyway hopefully we can argue ideas with facts rather than saying no for the sake of saying no)

And going back to Nullus suggestion, Gravity well sounds like a good future addition simply because it includes more or less all the additions listed in the fork while the code is proven and available as open source (ctrl C, ctrl V ftw...) so in the next version It would be nice to see such an addition (look at doge for example they are at ver 1.4 if not mistaking and the developement never cease).

Once the code is done, hype compaign should be initiated at full force

that difficulty needs to drop soon. all the big pools are focusing on doge. there will be no one mining this

We're working on addressing that, if you read the last say 30 pages or so. Wink

Just tossing an idea out there... does anyone think it's feasible to use coin hoppers as protection against extremely long block times, by lowering the difficulty if a block has not been found for a long time?

For example, the difficulty could drop by 10% if no new blocks are found after 30 minutes, and 10% every 10 minutes after that, resulting in a 35% drop after an hour and 65% drop after 2 hours.

Since a block is normally found every 10 minutes, this would only kick in in cases of bad luck or most of the hash leaving the network; the base difficulty would readjust way down after 36 blocks if the nethash was low enough to kick this off several times.

I am still here supporting Cat, and still have faith in this coin. It's just a little hard to understand what the plan is. I'll watch with interest during the next fork.

NO Nullu, we absolutely do NOT have everyone doing their own thing.  The actual developers are working on a 1 block retarget with a moving average tail and a movement limit.  Period.

This sounds very very good.

Kisa2005 et al,

I think by and large, I've taken the lead position (in terms of representation to the forum, and PR) of restarting CatCoin, with the technical help of many of the other members of the board. I am by no means the new dev, but I feel as though people have looked to me and Andy mostly for answers.

I'd first like to take this opportunity to apologize for the scarcity of my posts the past couple of days. I am getting married in under three weeks, so my attention to RL matters has been necessary during an extremely busy time for me. I have not forgotten about CatCoin, at all, it is in the forefront of my priorities outside of RL.

That being said, SlimePuppy (AKA Andy) has done a very good job of keeping you guys in the loop of our progress. Between him, myself and Zerodrama, we've committed to more regular updates to the forums to ensure everyone is on the same page.

We are pretty much of the belief at this point that KR105 has no further influence on this project, he was reasonably clear that he was done a while back. Our board maintains almost all of the social media resources. Twitter, Facebook, IRC, reddit and the websites belong to us. CatCoinForum does not, and that is a situation I am unsure of how to resolve at the moment. We will be pushing more content out soon, and I will be delegating the majority of this work as I need to spend more time with my RL priorities at least for the time being. The pool owners are on board with our group as well.

Hopefully this clears up any confusion. Another update will be made re: the windows QT wallet later tonight, as it is the last real obstacle to getting this fork vetted and released.

Dear CAT supporters and the Board of Directors ( sorry can't find the post where it was announced who belongs into it, but I remember
Slimepuppy, Maverickthenoob, Zerodrama, Hozer, and Etblvu1 not sure if he was asked to leave or still in... )

Your work on proposing, discussing and programming the fork, wallet etc. is highly appreciated and the true CAT supporters are wishing much success with that and hoping things will calm down after fork, and the journey to Mars can start.

I would like to also mention, that there have been multiple other vivid supporters and enthusiasts who pushed various initiatives which helped the coin sofar, and some of them stayed with the CAT through the tough times and will continue to do so. In the first weeks it takes time for all of us to find out whom to trust, who can add what to the table a.s.o. And naturally, people tend to like their own ideas and don't necessarily jump on implementing ideas suggested by others, especially if work, thought and effort is involved. So we end up with multiple good, but often uncoordinated, initiatives by various people or teams, which now would need to get synchronised.

So for the moment being we have a situation, where the information sources on CAT neither get constantly updated nor syncronised. I am not sure how to find out if there is communication going between Such as
- OP
- multiple Facebook pages (facebook.com/CatcoinOfficial vs. /Catcoins vs. /pages/Catcoin/247479085412099)
- catcoinforum
- reddit
- twitter
- websites (catcoin.biz / org)
- pool websites etc. etc.

We also have multiple people proposing improved CATcoin design -> is that desired? to whom actually they propose? who votes or decides which is the best proposal?

We also had experience in recent weeks where community was scared by some dominating persons and offensive argumentation on this thread. However, without people taking responsibility to lead the community effort, such effort becomes ineffective. This coin can only become successful if backed by growing and vivid community. I may be wrong, but I can't imagine CAT succeed if this is a solo project of some cool business boss or even if dominated by a team of ego-driven people. So in my view, we could only win if leaders whom community trusts, in terms of integrity, skill, dedication, influence and communication, start to emerge. And if those leading members also get along with each other constructively.

I fully understand and respect that dev team on IRC channel recently primarily focused on tech solution, and you informed us that there are some other initiatives, social, lawyers etc. taking place. Apologies I never used IRC before, and I don't quite know if the participation there was by invitation. However, we probably can't expect to coordinate and inform the community via IRC, and there should be some coordinated representation of the coin to the new adopters, interested investors, volunteers, miners etc.

So may I post a question /proposal here. Which channel can be used for the ongoing communication between the Board of Directors and the community? this doesn't yet work efficiently on any of the channels known to me, and should be established. Such a channel would contain the updated information who is on the Board (and who and how can apply to be on the board), and who is responsible for which parts of the CATcoin project, in terms of coordination and delegation. It should also be clear which projects are currently running and who is doing them. (E.g. Kisa2005 is trying to reach out to Chinese forum, so if someone else is doing similar thing, some tasks could be split, coordination can be achieved, unnecessary repetition should be avoided, or maybe someone would warn Kisa to wait with that project etc.). Other coins have managed to arrange that, websites where volunteers can apply listing their skills etc. It is important that there is one master source of most relevant updated information, which is then accessible for people working on promoting the coin, so that they can update their sell push based on reliable and updated status.

I would suggest a viable candidate and true CAT supporter who could take on the task of synchronizing the information and updates between various media. Is the dev team /board open to consider this? Would community agree that such coordination is crucial and necessary?

Apologies to everyone for my post being somewhat unstructured at this moment, but I hope that this offers at least some food for thought in the hope of constructive discussin. And please noone should see here criticism of someone's actions, this is not intended as a critique, but as question how to move forward.

May the CAT be with the Board and all supporters! Wink
Kisa

DOGE market cap $63m, CAT could become comparable or even a stonger coin, the current market cap only $300K. Someone taking notice?

A few other fellows and I bought out the lower priced Catcoins. (There wasn't any substantial volume).

I think the focus needs to be on marketing, like Dogecoin. People are going to be looking for another Dogecoin and Catcoin is a solid contender. The reddit page http://www.reddit.com/r/catcoins/ is a good start. Just keep posting mindless shit there to give the illusion of a community and a real community should follow soon enough. Make it funny, make it cute, and post often... It also might be a good idea to work in grumpy cat, people love that guy.
