We're in the process of finalizing the fork, so there may be some speculation on that, but it's jumped a whole lot for one day. Be careful folks, for now I'm not sure what's driving this.

Because at this point, no offense but, put up or shut up.  Wink

If I had a magic solution, I would be rich by mow. Or at least have my own (probably struggling Tongue) altcoin. LOL.
I just think the practical success of these altcoins today doesn't correlate that closely with their intended self-control mechanisms.
Everything is either a big bubble or a dieing pit, and these states aren't set by C++ codes. And those who dictate the practical rules, doesn't like the aggressive countermeasures.
Of course, a rubbish code can kill any coin and a very good code might keep it alive. But just alive, not successful, while even a simply coded coin can be successful with some luck.

But from now on, I will choose the "shut up" option for various reasons.

Yeah, because coins with instant difficulty re-target are performing so well on the market right now. Tongue

Do YOU have a better suggestion? Because I'd really like to hear it. At this point, the network hash is on the verge of total collapse. With a 10 minute block time, it's not really instant anyways, it takes a 6 hour averages and bumps up or down the diff in steps, with a limit to reduce spikes while still allowing the diff to jump 100% in either direction in an hour if necessary. What's your suggestion? Because at this point, no offense but, put up or shut up.  Wink

We need to start building network hash back, and with how unpredictable that may be off a fork we need the diff to react and stabilize quickly to protect us and our coin from further embarrassment.

This is how you do a Kimoto Gravity Well;

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-foxcoin-a-fully-dynamic-cyptocurrency-dying-420727

I still think this is what Catcoin needs.

Kimoto Gravity Well, reward model fumbling, all tried to attack the symptom: multipools.

Never build against a problem. Always build toward a solution. The issue is volatility in the difficulty adjustment. Stop blaming the market for mistakes in the software.

Wallet's compiling in Windows.  News when there's more to share.

No wallet tonight.  Much bugs, such broken things. Wink  Now that I know exactly what we need and in what order it's needed, I'm going to rebuild my compile environment and start fresh.

We're about 90-95% there on both the wallet and the catcoind headless builds.  More news on the wallet tomorrow.

Andy

Thanks Andy, keep up the good work.

Catcoin died? my wallet stucks at 9 hours left.
I haven't gotten any confirmed transactions from Coinium since January 17..
over all hash rate is low and team catcoin has most of it
http://catcoins.biz/charts/
i don't know if that's hurting anything...
coinium will pay out we just don't have the hasrate to do all the verifications quickly as it sits they owe me 200 cats
my wallet is also saying it's 8 hours behind and i haven't closed it in weeks...

Poor Cat how many lifes left?  Smiley
I hope it will rise again.
Too many scamcoins around.
People become tired, so Cat can rise, because of name and because of community.
