Its time to say goodbye.

cat.poolerino.com is closing its doors due to missing interest in mining with us.

Feel free to cash out your coins, if you got some left. Most of you used autopayout, great!

Webfrontend will be avail another 7 days now.  Thanks for mining with us.

There are people who are trolling this thread trying to divert attention from the fact that WE NEED TO FIX THIS CODE. Hozer seems to be the only person improving the code, and he gets trolled by a bunch of people just looking to diminish everything that we have.
People weren't 'trolling' hozer - they were making it clear that what appeared to be a unilateral move was unacceptable.  The good news, as has already been pointed out, is that we have a talented dev team actively working to take CAT to the next level - and hozer's part of it.

A number of folks are working on code changes.   Hozer's built a testnet wallet and it works great!  Maverickthenoob's finishing a testnet server.  The plan so far is to get the testnet running and start tweaking the code to stabilize the difficulty swings in spite of the 'hit and run' reality of today's environment.  Once we've got at least one solution, we'll get it to a full community vote and we'll implement the fork.

Maverick gave us the best summary/status here:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.4475976

With an update here:

Freenode IRC Channels (pretty sure these are the ones - any missing?)

Once I get my testnet up, I'll try my hand at compiling a wallet for Mac OSX, though I would greatly prefer someone with more experience and time taking on that issue. We really could use a Mac dev all the way around for future releases as well.

Board of directors? Are we going corporate here Tongue

But in all seriousness, we have a real problem with low hashrate (and 3 hour block confirmation times) during high difficulty.

so HOLD YOUR CAT, unless you are sending to someone who you know and trust. We have to hardfork the official community consensus code at some point SOON, and we ALSO run the risk of a 51% attack. I'd estimate it would cost about $25,000-$50,000 US dollars, or 50-100 Radeon R9-280x's to have enough hashing power to either block all transactions, or try to double-spend.

On the bright side, I have the catbox https://bitbucket.org/dahozer/catcoin, and Maverikthenotsonoob has https://github.com/CatcoinOfficial , so if you think something funny is going on, download both and COMPARE THE CODE, and then get on #catcoin-dev and ask about it. Take this as an opportunity to learn about cryptocurrencies and C++ by diving into the code. We don't bite. No question is stupid. (Okay, well, I bite coinhoppers, but I let them go if they agree to pay out in CAT.)

Once BOTH source repositories have the SAME checkpoints that have comments about 'fork2' or something like that, it should be safe to start trading again.
I SUPPORT CATBOX !!!!!!!!

I'm committing 20,000 CAT's for the purposes of developing, marketing, and enhancing the coin if & when we see the CatBox code integrated into the official chain.

If any of you want to keep the current code AS IS put your money where your mouth is.

So I finished working on the CAT faucet only to learn that it's having some bad time. Anyway I hope cat will make through it and continue the journey to the moon. And not because I hold many CAT (I actually have 0), but because I love cats and have put effort into creating a website.

So smart guys, please, resolve the issue and bring back the good old CAT. I have some cool ideas, which I want to put on websites soon Smiley

P.S. The faucet is here: http://www.moonrace.tk

Made a new thread in main subforum https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/dogecatmoonfaucet-introducing-the-epic-race-to-the-moon-giveaway-416742

You can help bumping it up so more people see it.

Bad news?? or did you already know....

Removing CAT/LTC market shortly. All open orders will be automatically cancelled. https://twitter.com/CoinedUp

Not really. It'd be bad news if they were removing CAT/BTC. It's probably just that CAT/LTC isn't a great trade pair. We still have CAT/DOGE and and CAT/BTC.  Smiley

Every bit of interest helps? Just found another Chinese trading site, e-mailed its webmaster enquiring if they could add Catcoin, you never know?

What are these sites based/built on?  Every exchange website I come across has the same basic look.  Is there some kind of PHP script that people can just download and use?

I donated 50 CAT because dogs aren't smart enough to make it to the moon.

Awesome!!! A lot of cats can be fed now. Now we just need to wait for the block to appear Smiley

Right after that I am going to make a new thread so more cats can find the way to the moon.
