I fired up the miner and noticed it's giving 12 coin blocks.. Did I miss something?

Since version 0.9.2.1 the 25% of mining reward goes towards masternodes. This will be compulsory starting 21 July.

Enough nodes seem to have upgraded so that you can now start masternodes on the network and use darksend mixing.

I will post a guide to running a masternode shortly.

Edit:

Doesn't look like it's affecting the suprnova pool

Testing perhaps?

cryptopia is not a so bad choice, i prefer it to ccex or alcurex Wink sure poloniex would be better.

Yea cryptopia seems legit, marketplace and mining in addition to exchange. But please don't waste any effort on trying to get on poloniex as its KYC policy has scared many people away.

I don't have a problem with cryptopia either.  I do like poloniex.  Their "Know your customer" policy is a good and a bad thing.  The good thing is that they are located in the United States.  That means that you're not likely to fall victim to a scam where the coins disappear and they close up shop.  They can be prosecuted if they engage in nefarious activities and are held to some accountability as opposed to many of the overseas exchanges located in countries where you would have no recourse if they decided to just take the funds and run. They are also one of the only exchanges to fall victim to a hack and reimburse their customers fully while still staying in business.  But that was very early in their existence and they have been a solid exchange following a couple of early hiccups.

Regarding Chaincoin.  I'm pleasantly surprised to see that it's still here and it obviously has a collection of very talented individuals interested and working on it.  It will be interesting to see what happens.  The foundation is solid and anything could happen.
