May I ask if my gaming pc with i3-7100 with SSE2 support is better than my office compter with Intel G3900 with no SSE2 support? I want to start to mine yenten coin

Both of those support SSE2. SSE2 was introduced almost 20 years ago and your G3900 is not even 5 years old. I don't know any benchmarks but my bet would be on the i3. Hands down. G3900 is a Celeron aka budget CPU so i wouldn't expect a lot of performance from it. Having said that why don't you just run some tests and compare hashrates?

My biggest interest about Yenten is why v2.0.1 wallet can't sync block-chain from start, without prepared block data.

DNS seed is disabled and hardcoded seeds are likely outdated or not even yenten nodes but it seems it is not enough to fix this alone. I'd investigate if there is a locking issue. To me it seems like the network thread runs into a deadlock and wont receive any data but i haven't had the time to investigate that yet.

Ironically v1.3.1 wallet still holds the meaning to exist, at this point...

Yes, if there wouldn't have been a 2.0.1 at all it would have turned out better in the end.

It’s sadly official, but Yenten is dead and over..
For those who looking for CPU mining coins to mine, i can suggest Cryply, Koto, Elicoin.
It’s time to stop wasting time and to look forward.
I think Cryply and Koto are robust against CVE-2018-17144, as their base source codes look older, like Yenten-1.3.1.

Elicoin has not been got maintenance, so still holding a risk of CVE-2018-17144 attack:
https://github.com/elicoin/elicoin/blob/master/src/validation.cpp#L2885

Yenten was too famous to avoid getting attacks.
Maybe its historic role is coming to an end though, I was enough enjoyed on Conan's joke!
I have no intention and no ability to force extending its life, but still there are several interesting issues.

Doesn't work on Mac bro. Thanks for your efforts anyway.
Oh...thanks for your trying!
Probably I wouldn't be able to figure out the issue by my almost zero experience about Mac though,
but curious how it doesn't work...any error message?

The message is that the macOS is not the latest one (which seems to be required). However, I am on the latest version (Mojave).
(This is just a generic message however that I have seen with other programs too when the software will not run).

Thanks, so I'll try to update my macOS to Mojave and build the wallet on it!
Hmm, I've updated my MacBook-Air  to macOS Mojave 10.14.1 and my Yenten-Qt binary still works fine as same as on High Sierra.
Here is a screenshot:

I have no further idea, sorry...

I agree ..Yenten is clearly a dead coin ... Cryply  is much better.

So its a mess in short. + Will be hard to fix things without a new dev to take over/old one showing up.

Well, not that much unless your plan is to mix versions (one of which is outdated by months now) of course and those fixes are already reality from 2 different sources if you look back in this thread a little. As i said above the original dev even hinted at that there would be a softfork. It was pretty bad communication not putting that in big red letters and explaining what would happen when in front of the release though.

Btw I didnt follow last days events: What ill gained coins? Did the double spend bug surface here too, then they dumped those coins on exchanges?

Well there is a ton of speculation going around. I suggest painting your own picture. Most information is in this thread and you probably know where to get some nice looking graphs. You just need to connect the dots. Noone is going to be able to give you a definitive answer.

I warned all of you, Yenten have big problems, and are under potential double spending attack!
I also dumped 75000 Yenten, realizing that the developer will never come back.
And now more reason that Conan abandoned Yenten for good, 28 October was the first birthday of Yenten... Conan didn’t do anything, no message, no celebration. I consider the same as ignoring the birthday of your own child .

I am still studying this altcoin, I still see its progress well and it looks great, waiting for better marketing in the future, I am also happy and like to do mining using CPUs, I will look deeper into this project and try to mine now

So one big question..for the benefit big all please answer .

If one user install 1.3 and 2.0 in two laptops and  keep same wallet .day in both maChines.  What happens?

Both chain has same wallet ..and let's say it's contain 5000yenten..
Can you throw some light on it 🎭

Interesting. I have not tried it and i will presume you are going to use current blockdata for each of those installs. My guess would be: It depends on when those coins ended up in the wallet. Pre split coins would be good in booth versions but past split coins are only good on the chain they belong to. I am not sure if the node would adjust your balance on startup and subtract the "bad" coins but i am very sure you wont have any luck transfering them.

In a scenario where you would switch block data between versions it depends on what caused the split. If the recent event caused the switch your node would at least be able to communicate with nodes of the version the block data originally belonged to. If the version changes that triggered in 2.0.1 caused the switch (or are at least another factor) your node is likely to get stuck instantly because blocks from it's own version don't match the chain and blocks from the other version don't match the protocol so there is nothing to communicate with. There might be a chance of 1.3.1 not being oh so picky about the protocol though. Again past split coins would only be good on the chain they belong to. On the other chain those coins don't belong to you or were even never mined.

Anyways, this is pure theory and guesswork. Just saying i would not have much hope for it to work very well (or rather at all).

Edit: Regarding the split due protocol changes in 2.0.1. Aside from the relevant code parts discussed earlier you can also check the original poll held by conan. There is 2 options. 1: "No, don't update. 1.3.1 forever." and 2: "Yes, update. Will require softfork". I think the discussed code parts changing the protocol is what he ment with softfork.

Edit2: Regarding price recovery. It's really hard to estimate what happened to the likely ill gained coins that presumably fueled the big dumps that triggered the decline but my guess would be around 25% of it is spent by now. Since it is impossible to predict the thoughts of the owner that does not have to instantly mean we will see more dumps but it's a possibility. Point still stands, we need to get the network updated to fixed builds or this uncertainity is multiplied by infinite which is bad(tm).

about price i think not recover soon until btc can go to 10k

So 1.3 and 2.0 are completely different ?  Non comptabile?

Yeah, the chains have split some time ago. Either due to the recent events or due to protocol changes in 2.0.1 that activated at certain blockheights/dates. I am unsure which one but fact is 1.3.1 and 2.0.1 are on different chains now.

Many still with 1.3 network I suppose

Not really. 1.3.1 nodes are a rare encounter. 1 or 2 people are still on 1.2.1 or even 1.1.1(!) though. Last time i checked 1.3.1 network had a hashrate of around 1500hs. Almost half of it being one of my i7s which i have turned off by now. It was just silly mining around 4000+ coins per day which nobody would take anyways.

Maybe it's basically a generic message to say "compiled for incompatible OS version". If that is the case which versions would have to be available to cover at least the major part of the macOS population?
