GENERAL IMPROVEMENTS:
New seed nodes have been added.
ISSUE:
Some users were affected by a bug in CROATCore that prevented them to import their wallets via the public and private keys.
Even though the keys were entered correctly, CROATCore would erroneously report that the entered keys would be invalid.
SOLUTION:
Keys are always accepted if entered correctly.
Fix status: FIXED.
ISSUE:
Some users were affected by a bug in CROATCore that prevented them to access their wallets via the wallet password.
Even though the password would be entered correctly, CROATCore would erroneously report that the used password could not be used as it was marked as being incorrect.
SOLUTION:
Given the complexity of a container, the system would sometimes need a long period of time to rebuild its internal structure.
As such, the process of loading the wallet now presents a user a progress bar informing them of the steps completed to load the wallet and accept the correctly entered password.
Fix status: FIXED.
ISSUE:
The Wallet Restore screen (via its keys) did not hide the new password selected.
SOLUTION:
Mask the supplied password.
Fix status: FIXED
ISSUE:
Improperly shutting down CROATCore or an unexpected application exit would sometimes cause the container file (wallet) to result in a different name than the one listed in the recent history list (i.e., an extension of “.tmp” or “.temp” would be added).
SOLUTION:
Attempt to detect this scenario and rename the file to its original name when first starting CROATCore.
Fix status: FIXED
ISSUE:
The miner portion of CROATCore would not make full use of CPUs that have a really high number of threads available for mining.
SOLUTION:
Provide an ULTRA setting for mining in order to be used by users who want to dedicate most of their CPU resources to mining.
Fix status: FIXED
ISSUE:
After sending CROATs and creating a label for a particular address, certain fields would need to be automatically cleared out for a better UI experience.
SOLUTION:
After a payment, clear the label and pertinent payment fields.
Fix status: FIXED
ISSUE:
An initial default mining pool address became obsolete but remained the default URL for CROATCore for mining. As such, connection errors to that particular URL would be shown when users would start mining with default settings.
SOLUTION
Change the default mining pool to a current official pool.
Fix status: FIXED
ISSUE:
Certain users were affected by a bug in CROATCore that caused users to see an extra “Unsuccessful payment” error message even though the payment would go through successfully.
SOLUTION:
Once a payment is confirmed, re-initialize the system correctly to avoid any potentially un’synched error messages.
Fix status: FIXED
ISSUE:
Some users were affected by the fact that while the daemon portion of CROATCore would download a large number of blocks to synchronize its database, new block would come in and the system would not update the progress bar with the newly arrived data.
SOLUTION:
Dynamically change the progress bar completion screen to reflect the newly arrived blocks as well.
Fix status: FIXED
ISSUE:
The MacOS version of CROATCore remains in the Downloads folder and the user has to manually change its location to the Applications folder, for the app to work correctly.
SOLUTION: Publish a complete installation package for MacOS which makes it easy for the user to save the app in the right folder.
Fix status: TO BE CORRECTED IN THE NEXT VERSION
OTHER COMMENTS:
Some anti-malware / antivirus software such as ESET-NOD32, Ikarus, eGambit etc. are known to produce “potential malicious software” or “potentially unwanted application” false positives when installing/running CROATCore. These applications use “reputation” and “software behavior” heuristics that may flag software as malicious because they interpret certain sections of code (such as port opening) as “suspicious”. If you downloaded CROATCore from our website, you can be sure it is malware free, but if your AV software is reporting a false positive and your copy came from our website, you will need to manually allow it or white-list the program. Mining programs usually will be flagged as malware or viruses by many antivirus.
