Smiley Hey there Christian, wonderful cudaminer is wonderful! I had a few configuration questions for 2x old Nvidia MSI 250 1gb... I've been using legacy kernels with the 2013-12-10 release ( on win764 and using x64 of cudaminer) and getting around 20kh with my cards.

Today I was autotuning both at the same time, and one of my cards went up to 38kh, while the other one stayed normal at 19-20. My question for you is, what would be the best build using my old compute 1.1 250s?
I've read many people used to get 50-70kh/s with these same GPU, so I was just wondering if there's something I'm missing as a newb miner, maybe any old versions that have the right kernels for getting full power from my gpus or....anything really...any and all help is MAJORLY appreciated, and keep up the good work! Smiley

edit: guess I should include my config, and this is all on a 6core amd phenom II 1090t 3.4ghz, so i shouldn't be running into cpu issues :/

No worries :-)

Yeh I was looking at upgrading one of my virtual machine systems to 32GB the other day. £268 for 32GB!  It was stupid. I can still get 4GB for around the £30 mark thought so that's not too bad

That's why I said to buy 4gb.
I know it works on 4gb, and he is using windows not Linux.  So even the OS will use more ram.

He asked if Linux would require less memory.  I said yes. I recommended 4gb ram. You have said your works.

Which bit was wrong? The sorry part confused me, was it sarcasm from what I said or what?
It's been said in the last few pages that to run 5 gpus you need more memory 8gb ish and a higher power cpu

I would second doubling the RAM at least.

Sorry dude I misread your saying. I thought you mean 8GB is at least for running 5GPUs rig so it is confusing for newcomer. And RAM is much expensive than last year, at least twice.
Don't mind me I'm crazy those days, dude.  Grin

With 5 gpus ram will become an issue. Linux will use less but is harder to set up. Ram is pretty cheap so buying 4gb  shouldn't set you back too much

Sorry? My 6x750Tis rig runs fine with 4GB. And I use Linux. If you use Windows then it is another story.

ccminer behaves really strangely on fuguecoin after a while.
The gpu usage is all over the place.

run Google Chrome Wink   I think we have a fix for this now.

After we investigate the alleged memory leakage, we may release an update tonight.
I found a way to fix that problem by running 2 sessions of ccminer on the gpu (I am not fond of that, however it didn't crash so far...).
Doing this the gpu usage is stable at 98% and I get an extra 10Mhash/s. Globally the card is running at 240Mhash/s.

Thanks for your feedback! Would it matter if it's Win or Linux (regarding RAM and CPU)? My excuses for being a noob, coming from AMD cards mining where I see RAM is not of that much importance?

Hi guys! Would you please take a look and see if my 750Ti config is good enough? I get a lot of errors 6 and 30 in cudaminer, sometimes with drivers crashing and barely running stable over 10 hrs. So here it is:

Biostar H61B mobo w/ 1 PCIe 16x and 5 PCIe 1x
XFX XXX Edition 750W PSU
2 Gb RAM
Celeron 1620 LGA1155
5x ASUS GTX750Ti all on 1 to 16 powered risers

This rig is running Win7 x86 and I spent a couple evenings trying to run off Linux with no success yet. Waiting for advice and any comments, thanks.

I haven't been able to find anything about how size effects it yet. If I had the gpus and risers I would test it myself but I don't want to buy them to find I can't use them

Can you help me to understand how can I configure CudaMiner to talk to this Pool?

you know there is a README.txt file packed into the cudaminer download...

Christian

D4rk, in case you are still not sure how to proceed with setting it up, even after reading the README, try http://www.reddit.com/r/CudaManager/comments/1zoe39/release_cuda_manager_v121_expanded_miner_options/
Aside from making the set-up process more intuitive, it also offers a number of handy features, such as a good fail-over support and temperature control

Is it good for all the scrypt coin or is good only for Doges?

As far as I know, it works with all coins cudaminer can work with. I have never tried non-scrypt coins, so I can't confirm that, but seeing as the manager is a GUI for cuda, and that it doesn't change its core capacities, I am guessing it can. So it can mine other coins than Doge.

Guys please help, my asrock h81 pro btc arrived and i set it up with pci usb extenders and 6 750 ti , but windows is showing me only 5 cards , i cheked everything , changed slots , but nothing , the best i can get are 5 cards. Is there a driver issue or something else , i have a a friend who has the same board and puts 6 amd cards with no problem.Huh? Huh Huh Huh Huh

I hope you get this sorted soon, i am looking at getting that board with the usb extenders soon

right now i am feeling the hate for getting a expensive motherboard as my has

2 x PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots (PCIE2/PCIE4: single at x16 (PCIE2) / x8 (PCIE4) or dual at x8/x8 mode)
1 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot (PCIE5: x4 mode)
2 x PCI Express 2.0 x1 slots

if only it was 3 @ x1
as you cant run the x1 risers in the x16 slots i believe?
and i know they don't make x16 usb risers

On a side not, has any tested what difference using longer usb cables poses?
For example mos are sold with 1m cables, but what is stopping you using 5m cables?

please someone test this xD

Yes i sorted it out , i disabled the onboard video and it turned out that one of the extenders was not very well , and now I am a proud 6 x 750 ti rig owner. But i can tell that for good results , you should be using at least 8gb ram , i couldnt get them runnig with my previos settings , wanted more ram.

Interesting, where did you turn off onboard video?  I'm running an i3 in mine and couldn't find a simple setting in the bios like my Gigabyte board has.

I also noticed the ram thing but thought it was a page file issue since I was using 18 of the 20gb drive i had in there previously.  I currently have a larger drive and 4gb ram in there.  I'll have to try 8gb now and see if that is stable.

FYI, it seems I was only able to detect 6 cards when I updated to service pack 1, so if you haven't yet, you'll need to make sure it's all updated.

As for disabling the onboard video , you go into the bios and set vga device to pci-e and a little lower there is an multimonitor option - disable it and you a good to go.
I am having other issue now , the cpu runs 50% with -H 2 and i can`t understand why? Task manager says cudaminer is using it.
