soo i somehow messed up my cudaminer
all i can mine now is maxcoin if i try anything else (ie scrypt) it locks up my comp
it used to not do that
i tried previous releases and resetting my drivers to 332.21 same results
i am running a gtx 690

edit: fixed! something with the autotune just had to plug in k8x24

For those who mined (or are still mining) pandacoin:

Be advised Wolong dumped his premine.
Devs threw in the towel and there's now enough panda coin on the market to make sure mining never gets profitable again.

I stopped mining and dumped everything when i saw his twitter meltdown.

What a moron.
lol ... stopping mining makes sense, selling is just stupid (sorry for the harsh comment)... says the guy with 10000 pandas
... especially when one of the exchange is in maintenance with many buy order just below yesterday price

yes it has hardware swich to swich the nvidia on and off , you can do it softwarely too. It is a very powerful laptop with i7 and 8gb ram , but the gt555 can make 35khs on scrypt.

my GT 750M does 2.15 kHash/s Yacoin and around 100 kHash/s scrypt. Wink

my Optimus switching is done only in software (less potential for user error) - no hardware button or LED.

I am new to this world of virtual coins, but I am a Software Engineer.

I am having trouble launching the program, the x64 binary provided. I use the following command line:
cudaminer -d gt555m -C 2 -i 0 -o stratum+tcp://coinotron.com:3334 -O user.worker:password

and I get this:
*** CudaMiner for nVidia GPUs by Christian Buchner ***
                     This is version 2014-02-18 (beta)
        based on pooler-cpuminer 2.3.2 (c) 2010 Jeff Garzik, 2012 pooler

[2014-02-19 17:01:32] Unable to query CUDA driver version! Is an nVidia driver installed?

I believe this is due to the Laptop specs, it has both a NVidia GT55M 2GB and a Intel card. I have set the NVidia card to be the default card but it does not seem to be enough. I can't disable the Intel Card. I have a Lenovo ideapad Y570, is a fairly good and powerful laptop, I would like to get some juice out of it.

Any ideas?  I am ready to donate my first Litecoin to the right answer
thanks!

I have the sam laptop with the same gt555m and it runs ok , you just have to enable the card with the shiny button and the led to shine white, dont tell me you didn`t do that?

Is it on windows or linux ? (never had the problem on windows, but on linux it could be more tricky)
I think it would be better if you didn't use the "-d gt555m" option... I don't know if Christian really put the name of every single nvidia cards into the -d options
Try to see what happens without the -d option; the intel hd graphic cards is not recognised by cudaminer, so technically there is only one nvidia card which can be recognized and the -d is not necessary.
Try also to use the latest driver for your card.

Can you run any of the examples which come with the cuda toolkit?

Guys where do you get info , when a new coin is going to be released and when it will be on trade on criptsy or others , or you just have to guess?
crystal ball might work from time to time... however reading the forum (announcement section) works slightly better

funny the MRC peaked to 2e-6 ltc early this morning... I had some to sell at 1.5e-6 since two weeks which went away... times has come to make some more. (unfortunately I was able to only grab 300000 when they were at 7.5e-7ltc two days ago lol)

on the other hand, the panda p2pool is very unlucky...

One change in the new SM will be especially consequential for certain customers—and possibly for the entire GPU market. Maxwell restores a key execution resource that was left out of Kepler: the barrel shifter. The absence of this hardware doesn't seem to have negative consequences for graphics, but it means Kepler isn't well-suited to the make-work algorithms used by Litecoin and other digital currencies. AMD's GCN architecture handles this work quite well, and Radeons are currently quite scarce in North America since coin miners have bought up all of the graphics cards. The barrel shifter returns in Maxwell, and Nvidia claims the GM107 can mine digital currencies quite nicely, especially given its focus on power efficiency.

Is cudaminer dependent on processor performance to give better hash rates?

with -H 0 and -H 1 options the CPU can become a bottleneck. Otherwise no.
actually for scrypt and scrypt:2048 you get an extra 20khash/s (scrypt:2048) with H1 compared to H2

interesting. -H1 does 4 times more transfers over the PCI express bus than -H 2. Surprising that it's faster. I intend to get rid of all the transfers and do the hash evaluation on the GPU soon (like I do when hashing Keccak). This will allow us to run nVidia cards with 1x connections through risers without performance impact.

Started mining pandacoin getting 300khash/s with my 780. Is that the highest one can get with the 780?

This is my bat file: "cudaminer.exe --algo=scrypt:2048 -o stratum+tcp://panda.nitro.org:3338 -O user:pwd"

Launch config is T12x20
Bench hash/sec: 329142 hash/s
Max total warps (BxW): 322

-i 1 -C 0 -H 0 (Default)

try -C 2

cudaminer.exe --algo=scrypt:2048 -l T12x20 -C 2 -o stratum+tcp://panda.nitro.org:3338

got "T kernel ignores the texture cache argument" giving me the same hash rate, so removed the launch config

cudaminer.exe --algo=scrypt:2048 -C 2 -o stratum+tcp://panda.nitro.org:3338
still got the t kernel ignores the .....

cudaminer.exe --algo=scrypt:2048 -lT12x20 -i 0 -C 2 -o stratum+tcp://panda.nitro.org:3338

got the T kernel ignores but had the same hash rate with some in ~+310 khash/s

cudaminer.exe --algo=scrypt:2048 -i 0 -C 2 -o stratum+tcp://panda.nitro.org:3338
still the same T kernel ignores ..... (result: -i 0 -C 0 -H 0) and hash rate average 310 with a few 318 in the beging. That said the autotuned launch configuration was the same T12x20.

Hope this helps and if have any ideas to increase hash would be glad to hear it.

Installed new driver 334.89 hash rates dropped by 10khash/s from last run from above (but that usually is normal as the gpu gives 10 above or below the average at every launch).
Mostly 295khash/s but some 300khash/s rarely any 315khash/sec.

tried -H 1 -C 2 -l T12x20 -i 0 -L 2 posted by lordaccess to Nelberg and it gave a really low hash rate of 230khash/s.

removed the -L 2 from the .bat file and now mostly 305khash/s

removed aslo -C 2 because it ineffective cudaminer gives T kernel ignores texture cache and hash rate 305khash/s

When I remove -L 2 it drops to 150khp. Its strange that same cards need different configs... Are you overclocked?

Can I ask what your setup is? CPU, Ram, Windows version etc?

Sure

Intel Core i7-3930K (OC'ed to ~4.7Ghz) Water cooled (H100)
32GB Ram Corsair DDR3-2133
Windows 8 64-bit
Corsair HX1050 power supply

+1 C 2 for scrypt and please try higher L values. 3 and 4 and maybe higher and auto tuning would net you more than 4khs (I hope) :p

thanks!
