Guys, what do I need to add to the bat file to show only the Yay's? Is it possible?

-q

in the github version also the "detected new block" messages are suppressed with -q (relevant when pool-mining)

So my troubles with Microcoin wallet persists and now also includes Yacoin wallet. They crash before they start. Quark and Maxcoin wallets seems to work though.

a corrupted block chain or database in the wallet's data directory can do that. Have you tried deleting everything besides wallet.dat in the %APPDATA%\MicroCoin folder?

Christian

Yeah, tried this and it doesn't work. It doesn't even create a wallet.dat in the first place because of the crash.

Managed to get Yacoin working by downloading an old wallet and running the dos version of the wallet. That way it populated the /appdata/roaming/yacoin folder with wallet and everything and after that I could run the main .exe file. But now that doesnt' work either. DoS server still runs but I get 100% boo's and 0% yay with that one.

Must be related to something I have installed. Like Microsoft c++ redist, .net framework or some stuff.

I normally fix those deleting everything but the wallet.dat and letting it redownload blocks.

I'm mining Altcoin (lol), gonna try solo now...random rewards, scrypt:2048 algo. Fun stuff, trades at https://www.newaltex.com/

Since they will have ARM controller, is that an indication that they will allow standalone operation, or it's only evidence that I should lay off the shrooms? Tongue I mean, running linux INSIDE the device is something that technically is "possible".  All they need is power and interface with an USB hub (pendrive for booting and storage, and wifi dongle).

I cannot imagine that a complex beast such a s an nVidia GPU can run without external components initializing and driving it. Also it doesn't have the interfaces to connect to an USB interface.

But there are developer kits for Tegra with ARM processors, supporting CUDA. http://www.nvidia.com/object/seco-dev-kit.html

So fully ARM based mining is a possibility. Just not at the speeds you're used to Wink

What are you mining with keccak? I guess MaxCoin time is over with this diff.

Also, any notable Coin where my gtx770 could be atleast competitive to radeons(so i can earn any money)? Smiley

Cheers

Scrypt-jane, I'd say Ultracoin, Microcoin or Yacoin (my favorite).

For yacoin, solo mining or pool mining?

Hello,

It might sound weird, but I have 3 660 ti cards, which I bought for other CUDA related stuff, and I am not sure what to do with them.

660Ti are excellent miners, also for Yacoin. The three cards together do 10kHash or slightly more.
by all means put them to good use. Pick a 3 slot gaming mainboard, e.g. GA-990FXA-UD3
a cheap Sempron CPU and a 750W PSU and mine away.

you could earn about 10 Euros a day with power costs in the order of 2-3 Euros/day,
getting return of investment on the mainboard and additional components in about a month.

Yep, and part of the price of any of their systems, if produced will include marketing, but if they are smart they will realize that Price/Watt is the single highest driver for card selection and they won't drastically inflate the price as they tend to, it'd just be shooting themselves in the foot, lol.

I think they know would have done  their homework about this... Wink

what kind of market does represent (for card maker) the mining business ?

a potentially huge one -  but one that is hard to predict and one where things can radically change within months.

when overclocking gpu for mining via cudaminer what should one prioritize core& boost clock or the memory clock?

I experimented abit and when I increased the core clock there wqls an increase in hashrate while increasing memory clock I didn't notice any increase in hashrate.
what is your thought?

second question what is the most profitable coin to mine with cudaminer?

Apologies to be a pain, but if I were wanting to mine Yacoin or Microcoin which release [date?] would be the best and possibly what settings for an evga gtx580 ?

grab the stable release 2014-02-04 ...

scrypt-jane with N factors 12 and above should use lower letter kernel denominations. In your case the f (fermi) Kernel.  just autotune, and try some various lookup gap values, starting at -L 1 and working yourself upwards...

maybe someone else can weigh in on Microcoin...

Christian,

Thank you very much for the response and help, very much appreciate all your efforts!

I have been mining LTC on my GTX 560 for the last 48 hours now. I have not seen one penny in my wallet yet! Cudaminer shows my hashrate is 145KH/s

What am I doing wrong?

Probably nothing wrong with what your doing, the difficulty of LTC is actually pretty high. But you should see something if your mining in a pool. If you are solo mining, good luck with that, you'll most likely never(?) find a block.

Hope someone can help me, I'm mining Maxcoin on Dell 2720 standalone on Win 8.1 with cudaminer-2014-02-09\x64 but am having overheating problems, with GPU going up to 90C.

I'm a newb to mining and have tried various settings getting 28000 khs with a very rapid heat rise to 22000 khs taking about 1/2 an hour to reach 90C using this config

cudaminer --algo=keccak -d 0 -l K56x32 -L 128 -i 1 -C 1 -H 1 -s 10 -o stratum+tcp://max.suprnova.cc:3333 -u xxxxxxx -p xxxx

Can anyone suggest better config to keep the heat below 80C even if I lose some hashes?

reduce the x32 to x16 or further. use -b arguments at or below 256 (powers of 2 please) together with -i 1, lowering GPU utilization (verify with gpu-z)

Christian

ok in know that this is a dumb question but what is the -b arguments how does this work, just asking sorry for the dumb question

Christian, I read about serie 8, Maxwell on Wikipedia...

Tongue I mean, running linux INSIDE the device is something that technically is "possible".  All they need is power and interface with an USB hub (pendrive for booting and storage, and wifi dongle).

I mean, I'm not saying that NVidia will ever pull such a stunt if/because there is no market, but does the chip actually allow for the device I just described?
