Anyone that has the ability to spin up a testnet, please do.

In addition, anyone that can also mine said testnet, please also do.

This Saturday, we gonna hammer it.

Every block filled.

How do I join testnet?
Been mining at graymining pool a while.

Hi Hyp0crit!

See my post at the top of page 53 Smiley
It's as simple as running a testnet node, then solo mining it.
Note that the testnet requires you to addnode w.x.y.z add in the console, or addnode=w.x.y.z in the .conf to get it to sync.
When it does connect, it will sync pretty fast, the blockchain is currently pretty light.

Hi Everyone!

I'm going to commence testing on testnet, it will span 2-3 days -- if you have the ability to at least spin up a testnet and get it to sync, that'd be very helpful -- if you have the ability to spin up a miner too, that's extremely helpful (I think 2 of us are currently mining, which is a great start).

Anyone can monitor this kind of testing via bitFossil.org -- or directly via Apertus -- and you can join the testing by connecting Apertus to your Testnet and doing your own etching on Datacoin TV! (TV stands for Testnet, Variable)

Happy Testing!

Can someone see what is Datacoin overall mining performance? How many cpd's in total?

Datacoin is a platform that can be used by applications such as torrent trackers, encrypted messaging services,  and can be used to store other kinds of small data all censorship-free. Windows users can use a GUI wallet, Linux users should compile datacoind or Datacoin QT from source. Wallets are in development, and more features are coming soon, but the wallet’s current functionality is similar to other coin.

Data is stored in the blockchain forever and can be retrieved using a transaction hash as an identifier. Datacoin is a platform that can be used by applications such as torrent trackers, encrypted messaging services,  and can be used to store other kinds of small data all censorship-free. Developers can store torrent files, certificates, computer programs, HTML pages and other kinds of meta information  in the Datacoin blockchain. Windows users can use a GUI wallet, Linux users should compile datacoind or Datacoin QT from source.

Apertus.io is written in C#.  Have you tried to run it with Mono for Linux, Mac and Android?

https://www.mono-project.com/

We have not.
But I love the idea!
I have tried with mono to run Apertus on Ubuntu 17.10, but no success Sad

Why is this coin not in any decent exhange? Only one (That I havent heard of earlier) and volume is super low.. how's that?

If you would give 10btc we could list at any exchange, but it didnt have any funding so it's like it is

That is the truth of the matter.  We are on BTCPOP (https://btcpop.co) and The FreiExchange (www.freiexchange.com).  We have been accepted on The Next Exchange (https://next.exchange) but we are waiting for the actual listing.

Since such a thing and the project is developing without much funding, it certainly deserves respect. But it may be worth as to promote the coin on the exchange by voting and support from the community. Huh

Must say I am getting more and more excited about Apertus.io and Datacoin.

I will just let my thoughts run.  Forgive me if my ideas are wild and wacky.  But maybe that is what is needed now.
In my mind, the digital identity leads to blockchain voting, the data storage leads to digital assets (including Bytestamp assets) and the chain-to-chain communication could lead to atomic swaps and atomic purchases (exchange?).

The websites on the blockchain leads to on-chain games and smart contracts.  A DNS system appears to be doable.  And the Twitter/Facebook/Snapchat lookalikes are already implemented.  All on chain.

I am in awe by the amount of work done and the implications.  When I use it my worries about "exchanges", "adoption" and "valuations" seem to fade away.    There is so much that is going to be done with these tools.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MINING
You need to start the embeded "madpool" in dtc client, then use xpmclient for mining.

1. setgenerate true
Enter this command in dtc console. If you need you can stop pool later with command "setgenerate false", but closing dtc application also works Smiley

You can't solo mine just with wallet, you need xpmclient.
Start wallet with extra command ./datacoin-qt - testnet -minshare=7 -target=7 (minshare and target set to actual diff).
In xpmclinet config file set IP address and Coin address, pool port(6666), start mining.
diff in xpmclient I set to 8 any lover than that crashes miner.
I don't know whay.
Just like solo mining on mainnet.

Thank you for the tips benxy031!
Mining testnet now.
I'll keep hardware on this as much as possible.

If anyone else has the ability to spin up a Testnet -- please do!

Testnet been running great all weekend!

Current nodes:
119.9.108.125
108.161.137.90
89.201.209.215
140.186.194.162
154.66.207.206

Please spin one up if you can.

Create a shortcut to Datacoin, then rightclick on the shortcut, now click properties.
Then in properties in the Target field on the far right, add a space then put -testnet in there.
Run it, then you add the nodes via clicking the Help tab > Debug window > Console > then in the console at the bottom put addnode 119.9.108.125 add
Repeat for the rest.

Yay Testnet!

Hay.
You can't mine with segenerate true 1, just write sengenerate true and then you trigger pool inside wallet and then mine with xpmclient.
. . .
And you must start wallet with -minshare=5 and -target=5

Hi benxy031,

Can you describe exactly how to mine the testnet?
Having a great step by step guide would be extremely helpful to build a robust testnet!

Kind Regards,
