Yes Smiley
I lost all peers from 0.15.99.8 wallet on testnet!

Hello,
DataSea can you give me your testnet addres to make some transactions?
Or somebody else?

Hay.
You can't mine with segenerate true 1, just write sengenerate true and then you trigger pool inside wallet and then mine with xpmclient.
Something happent with testnet my first blocks was orphans, than latter is ok. Some kind of fork?

I think it is not any kind of fork, it is "feature" of Datacoin network. We now have specific situation: difficulty is too high for current state, and network should give around 60 blocks per hour, and if you look it gives only 40. So we need to wait at least 7 more days to get network stabilized. When difficulty drop down, and if new big miners come in again, then network can give even 100 new block per hour and in that case many new orphans block can be ( will be created). So I assume that you have just bad luck and be in that transition time-frame.

And you must start wallet with -minshare=5 and -target=5

Also, it doesn't address the lingering connection issue with the new testnet version -- my clients will connect sometimes, and not sometimes, and even that first time, the delay was quite long.
Hit me with any nodes you have, I'll add.

Correct.

There needs to be a proper DNS seed and some fixed nodes of last resort coded with IP addresses into the wallet.
This should probably be done on testnet only after we've fully satisfied ourselves with the implementation.

In the meantime, just add a timeout=750 into your datacoin.conf and it will search more quickly for peers.
Eventually, you'll roll through the whole list of known addresses and be able to establish connections with full-nodes.
At the same time, the longer your full node remains online - then the sooner the NAT'd nodes behind a firewall which aren't accepting incoming connections will be able to find you and make an outgoing connection.

Since there are fewer than 8 full-nodes online for testnet even a half-connected peer will eventually be connected to the entire swarm.

Fantastic.  So there is nothing wrong with the 0.15.99-08 client testnet?

Hello,

If only one person is able to mine with the /DatacoinCore.Veter:0.15.99.8/ agent and if that one person triggers the consensus forks built into the newer code - then if/when they stop mining, there will be problems since any blocks after that soft-fork enforcement must be made with a /DatacoinCore.Veter:0.15.99.8/ or greater agent.

I haven't inspected the soft-fork triggers, flag dates or other specifics coded into Verionum's new code at this point.
Therefore, I can't say with certainty when those triggers will happen on Mainnet or Testnet.

I'm successfuly mined on testnet with v0.15.99.8 wallet Smiley
So that works just fine with this wallet.

Transaction ID: 8e8c602d13f435938043d718bc45476a58c759e5ac58ec9ed5813a746925ffa2

This is amazing!
And my testnet wallet is synced to right now!
I'm in awe.

Can you describe how you did it?

When I put in "setgenerate true 1" I get either null or the wallet crashes.
I'm using Windows 7 and 10.
gjhiggins got the same thing

Let me know!!! Smiley

Badnews:
The chain does not advance.

I have a testnet node with 5 connections mining on testnet now with the v0.8.6.0 client so that the chain advances.
Its peers are all 0.15.99.8 clients.

Hi Extro,

Correct me if I'm wrong Chicago -- but what I believe you are saying that you're able to get a 0.8.6 testnet client to do the mining, and are able to get you 0.15.99.08 to sync to this miner.
This would essentially be a rough work-around, imo, and it isn't sufficient to test the robustness, given that only the 0.8.6 clients would be doing the actual mining.
It does however keep the testnet alive until the issue of what's wrong with the built-in miner on the new version is fixed Smiley
Also, it doesn't address the lingering connection issue with the new testnet version -- my clients will connect sometimes, and not sometimes, and even that first time, the delay was quite long.
But sounds like progress Smiley

Note that my static IP node is in a previous post.

Mods,

Please recognize that these last couple of posters are clearly not actual contributors to the thread.
They appear to building a fake history with comments that have certain key words, but ultimately the information presented is ridiculous.

If you want this domain to stay a place for innovation, you'll need to stay a step ahead of this.

Many Thanks,

I would like to believe that Datacoin version 0.8.6 is stable and should be moved to production status.
That will happen after a discussion between the developers.

What's the plan with Datacoin then? How/why is it being resurrected so to speak? when there was kucoin voting also, you hadn't gone so much votes.

Bitfossil is scrapping data from Datacoin blockchain or is it entering directly with a full node acting as a gate?

Hi muf18,

Excellent question.
bitFossil is an archive of real-time Apertus monitoring of Apertus style etchings on compatible blockchains.
When those Aperti find an etching, it syncs with bitFossil to update.
So, in a sense, bitFossil is both the present, and the past.
