QR code in Datacoin 0.8.6

I noticed the QR code in the Datacoin 0.8.6 wallet prepared by Chicago.  To be honest, I am a bit behind on the use of QR codes, but I understand you can do transactions by scanning the QR code or taking pictures with your smartphone.

I am interested in working out a roadmap for Datacoin on the smartphone, and I suppoose the next thing we will have to do is put QR codes on www.datacoin.tk/wallet so that we could scan Datacoin phone to phone via the phone browser?  Crude, I know, but by using Firefox on the phone and the datacoin.tk wallet we would be able to scan Datacoin payments from phone to phone?

Hi,

Added a quick solution for generating QR codes to make deposits into the wallet. Let me know if there are any specific features that I could add and if possible provide me with a working example and I will see if I will be able to add it to the wallet.

Tnx,

H

IBM Bluemix

I have been moving the DatacoinX Twitter feed to IBM Bluemix.  Very very nice.  I used Node RED, and we are doing about 30 tweets per day now out of the free Lite account.
I think we should do about 50 and stop there (which I can do) but for now I want to run a few days with TheMerkle, Cointelegraph and Coindesk only, plus our usual tweets.  Eventually I will expand to Facebook and Reddit.

I really recommend that everybody register a free Lite account and play around with Node RED.  It is very intuitive and productive to link up the blocks. They have things like JSON, Twitter, databases (Cloudant) etc.  When you are finished you can immediately deploy to the web and it runs.

Okay, I'm impressed:

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/datacoin/ -- CMC doesn't even list you as having an active market (though I know you do).

But you still made it to 18 here: https://www.reddit.com/r/altcoin/comments/7k18jc/i_built_an_app_that_ranks_coins_based_on_the/

Haha, I think it's more because of Steamr DATAcoin, than DTC, because it's mistaken a lot of times, but it's also spreading idea for free actually lol.

Very impressive.  Wondering aloud if Apertus should not start another Steemit on Datacoin.   Smiley

Grin great idea extro24 ... once datacoin supports watch only addresses anyone with a wallet can participate in and follow an unlimited amount of public and private on chain discussion threads by using #keywords

consider creating decentralized profiles and signatures and moving your public and private development discussions to a #DatacoinDev keyword thread on your own testnet.

discussion thread post content is limited by the users's imagination only as they could post images, video's, code files and even entire webpages to the thread if they wish  Shocked  the trust center protects you from hackers you don't trust trying to inject unwanted code into your discussion.  if you want to see posts by any single user in it's own thread just search for their @signature_address and you will see everything they every posted.

PS: to contribute to the #DatacoinDev discussion thread users will need to be running a full datacoin wallet which also helps support your network.

Thanks IMZ.  Yes, that is a pleasant surprise.

BTW, we have an online wallet now - www.datacoin.tk/wallet.  I cannot login via the browser on my mobile phone but I think we can sort that out soon, so that we would have a (rough) mobile wallet.  Any help from the forum would be appreciated.

Still wondering about your p2p market.  Please elaborate.

Nice catch on the username. We are looking into EOS first for building the Everipedia network since I am a big fan of zero fee usage of an encyclopedia with consensus rewards for good editing/curation. I'm really just interested in datacoin as a hobby because I was one of the first miners and users back when it was originally launched. I'm gonna follow the project and do some mining and development support when I have time since I think datacoin was (now is) one of the more promising altcoins. Hopefully DTC gets listed on some large volume exchanges and fosters a niche dev community.

Hi Sam, nice to hear from you.

I tried to do a Datacoin entry in Everipedia, but I see it is invitation only.  Is there some way to get an invitation?

I am happy that Datacoin is involved with Bytestamp, Apertus and Hyperledger.  The underlying client needs no real development - that can proceed in Bytestamp, Apertus and Hyperledger.  The only issue is keeping up with the Bitcoin client versions, and there we have already upgraded once.

I see huge buy orders on BTCPOP. I suspect these are exchanges loading up at low prices so that they have "stock" to sell when they list us.

When I see Everipedia I see a Whale  ... of influence.  Stay close  Smiley.

Thanks

How large is the entire DTC blockchain at this current time in GB? Curious to know how to compares to ETH BTC in this nascent stage.

Are you still weighing up on how to start up the Everipedia blockchain?  Architecture, rewards, proof of work etc?

Would be interesting to see if Datacoin or Datacoin testnet could play a role there.  Storj used Datacoin to test their ideas before they eventually went to Ethereum.

You should link up with Apertus.io (https://apertus.io).  They have lots of experience with social media apps on blockchains.
