Just to add CryptoNote implementation in Golang is complete and undergoing testing.

Thanks.

What a time to be alive  Cheesy So you guys say it's now safer to withdraw more coins from stocks.exchange?

I just tried a withdrawal of 50 and it went through. I tried 120 around an hour before that though and ran into an error.

Capt. D wrote he had a successful withdrawal of 248 so I figured.. Anyway, I'll wait some more with that withdrawal.  Smiley

So Serena tells me I lost coins while mining on the official pool while there were forking issues.

Have others experienced this?  I continued mining during the forking crisis specifically because Capt Dero said that we should continue mining on the official pool then.  I could have pointed my miners elsewhere but wanted to continue supporting the community during that period.

Now I seem to have lost 12.2 Dero.  Not the end of the world, but annoying especially considering I thought it was safe and beneficial/supportive to be mining on the official pool then.

Hi @fellestreum,
Pls can you PM me your wallet address and rough time period to dig deeper. Since I announced mined on official POOL only, Only Official chain was used and there seem to be no issue.
But I will be glad to dig more.
You are welcome and I am Sorry for Inconveniences during that period.
I don't speak much about our upgrades/updates but just to speak specifically about fork issue, we have optimized the code so hope never to see any fork again.
Also many may have noticed the chain syncing time reduced a lot. We hope to keep it less than 1 hour in future too.
I was away and that was very bad time BUT bad time makes strong men and DERO has been much stronger now. After coming back, for next 72hrs we wrote new P2P layer for DERO and its working flawlessly since then. We are still working on P2P code to make it the most efficient and resilient P2P layer of any blockchain.
We are working on every minute part step-by-step and you will see no shortcuts in DERO.
Just to add CryptoNote implementation in Golang is complete and undergoing testing.

Thanks.

Yeah, I remember CaptDero saying to keep mining on the official pool, but my personal philosophy, learned the hard way, is to stop mining a coin whenever there are chain split issues with it. I normally point my highest hashrate rig at DERO because it is so damn hard to mine, but while all the forking mess was going on I shifted it over to some rinky dink Cryptonote coins and pounded the proverbial crap out of them. Good times.

I just read over our message again and realized that I forgot to apologize for the issue on behalf of the Dero team (we're sorry about the issues).

The official pool was our recommendation during the forking issue and we saw some issues there as well for a little while. Once the official pool was correctly brought into sync it took a couple extra days before we confirmed that everything was stable enough to give the pool operators a green light to restart their services as some were still having troubles.

I would also like to thank you for your support during that rough time on Dero's network. I know this isn't the best possible answer but I'm hoping it provides a brief explanation that also conveys our apologies for the error and our thanks for the support.

We have had someone physically monitoring the network 24/7 since the forking error occurred and we have been fine since we gave the pool operators the go ahead but we will continue to monitor Dero's network 24/7 for the foreseeable future.

Monero and Bytecoin dont have smart contracts? This is you advantage before them? Where this coin trading already? Cant find on coinmarketcap

yeah, Smart Contracts on CryptoNote Protocol is first in DERO.
Trading: https://stocks.exchange/trade/DERO/BTC
coinmarketcap not listed, requires  50-100k$ volume 24 hrs.

Can someone elaborate how much is the fee for sending DERO ?  couldn't find in the ann page
For transfer `unimportant` it is about 0.015 DERO per output.

If you check your reward for each block, and the fee for the transaction, it's HUGE. Can't we lower it?

There are many that suspect that they are offloading their used rigs before the Monero fork.  If this is true they aren't "testing" them at all, just trying to get top ROI by selling.

What are you think about asic baikalN 20kh cryptonight? Im afraid it can kill young coins. For cpu\gpu miners especially(

P.S. Monero team promise do hard fork because of that. Would Dero do same thing?

No one can predict future, Will try to handle them also  ?

Perhaps, but Baikal says they will be shipping their Giant N cryptonight miner in about a week so any CN coin that hasn't hard-forked to stop it is going to get the SIA treatment.

I suspect this also explains DERO's peculiarly high network difficulty for the past few weeks, as Baikal, just like Bitmain, undoubtedly does "extensive testing" of their miners prior to shipment (ie - uses them to mine for themselves first).

I have been waiting some time now for my wallet to properly synchronise, I thought I would just wait until the forking issues seemed resolved, and then sync a new version of the blockchain from scratch.  However it doesn't seem able to sync, even though I have left the daemon to run for a couple of days.  It shows this sort of thing:

The top block on my system has been sitting now at 31801 for several days.  My wallet is also of course not synced.  What should I do to resolve this?

Please make sure you're running the latest version (https://github.com/deroproject/dero/releases)

After that please delete your p2pstate.bin file and your imbd folder followed by a restart of your computer and then sync from scratch using derod with no extra nodes or commands.

If you require further assistance please don't hesitate to message me.
