The Official pool "fix diff" has been set to minumum 8k???

Edit: Yes, the official pool minimum difficulty has been set to 8k. It will be reduced to 4k in the very near future.

**********************IMPORTANT UPDATE**********************

Hello everyone!

We're pleased to announce the release of the updated pre-compiled binaries for Windows and Linux. We strongly recommend that everyone update at this time.

You may still require a complete blockchain resync. To do this please follow this guide: https://forum.dero.io/t/blockchain-synchronization-quick-fix-mar-4-2018-updated/190

There is a compressed seed you can download here to save data: http://seeds.dero.io/data.mdb

When we have additional updates we will promptly update the community. We take all issues very seriously and you can expect to see this level of dedication regularly from our team moving forward.

I am an old school, so I prefer forum before Slack, Discord, Twitter etc., too.

My question is: when do you plan to release official Dero GUI wallet for Windows?
I do not feel comfortalble using any CLI wallet and commands and do not mine any of such coins.
I know there is something like an unofficial wallet made by one of your fans, but it did not work for me, allways got an error when tried to install it.

Right now focus is on core daemon. Also we released new Golang menu based wallet on several requests who dont wana use old cli wallet but new Golang wallet is just to create address and check balance only without any transfer functionality.  we plan to release DERO own GUI wallet in next quarter after core update. We are working simultaneously on new Golang DERO Daemon, Wallet, Explorer. GUI is not big deal but you need some base/core to interact with it and we are still on core.

Right now there is a lot of work to take care of in other areas but when I get a bit of free time I'll continue to polish up the various platforms, add functionality, and go over the community feedback and submissions.

Strongly agree - adding more communication channels shouldn't be a high priority right now. I know all the cool kids love Discord and the terrorists love Telegram but for an old countercultural type like myself a forum thread - ie, this - is best.

+1

TBH, Myself too feel comfortable with forums only just for those reasons created official forum to keep everything organized and recorded.
Still believe forums are best to understand about any technology or anything. Started using twitter 12 hrs back after 3 months of project launch for important ANNs/updates etc.

I hope you get some sleep soon, but before you conk out please clarify if we have to delete data.mdb again (along with p2pstate.bin) and start over from scratch (ie - d/l the entire blockchain from the beginning) or if we can use the data.mdb snapshot from, e.g., Feb 27 (or even our current data.mdb, as long as we used the exclusive/priority node recommended by CaptDero yesterday).

Just trying to minimize the need for everyone to download all 2.7GB or so of the blockchain if it isn't necessary (albeit that is certainly the safest option).

We did find that people still need to delete their p2pstate.bin and the imbd folder. There is a new (in the last 6 hours from Capt) compressed seed on the forums (http://seeds.dero.io/data.mdb) that will help save you some data.

Thank you for pointing that out, I'll make sure to fix my posts with that when I wake up Smiley

Not sure that huge number of communication channels so important. Maybe telegramm channel will be enough, because it is most popular and simple to use. Better to have one channel with active users than 10 dead channels

Our Slack has 334 members at the time of this post and the Discord is at 20. Slack is particularly active, though Discord has been chatting steady since it started.

I've noticed that many people who join our Slack are surprised with how active it is.

Hi MagicSmoker,

I hope you're well tonight, and I can appreciate where you're coming from. To give you an idea of how seriously we're taking the issue. I've been working on the project, responding to support requests, and generally active since 9am my local time (it's 3:40am now). Around 2am when I finished up a lot of the heavier work, I switched over to cover some community requests so that I'm not falling behind or neglecting anything there.

The Discord seemed like an appropriate choice to work on since it will allow people to see when the updates go live on github, when important announcements are made, and some other neat features.

We respect that everyone has different preferences and we're going to continue to support all of them equally.

Regards,
Serena

Hello everyone,

At the request of the community we've added a Discord server which you're all welcome to join. https://discord.gg/aQcphjF

At some point in the not too distant future we will add webhooks to help keep our community up to date on Discord. These will allow us to send our Twitter, github, and other updates directly to their own little announcement channels on Discord.

Right now there is a lot of work to take care of in other areas but when I get a bit of free time I'll continue to polish up the various platforms, add functionality, and go over the community feedback and submissions.

use only official pool

can you set Minimum Denomination 0.000001?
I usually use another pool  dero.cryptopool.space. I would not like to scatter the remnants of different pools. Thank you

Hello,

There has been unintentional fork on DERO blockchain. To solve see following steps:
snip....
.......
...

Can we please get a technical explanation as to why the forks were happening in the first place and how you’re remediating it? It’s great it’s being worked on, but I doubt that Monero has broken c code. I’d assume it’s more likely an issue where some individual miner unintentionally 51% attacks (statistically more likely to be 70%+) for long enough to cause forking issues. Which is a size and redundancy issue, not an issue with the code.

There are several reasons for forks. Like small network with low NW hash rate.  Like if any pool finds blocks announces it but not able to provide block data due to lagging networks or Using NH on weak/overloaded pools. Pools closing port 18090 to share block etc.
P2P code and chain splits etc. are being modified and re-designed in new Golang code. Hope to see no forks after that on DERO blockchain.

ATM use only official pool for mining and derod daemon with options:  derod --add-exclusive-node 89.38.97.110:18090 --add-exclusive-node 89.38.96.169:18090

thanks ,i am in wrong fork chain ,but add this two exclusive-node  ,look like it's normal right now ,waste a little time and energy

Ie the official pool is guaranteed not to be in another fork?

Yes, steps have been temporarily taken to ensure that the pool is constantly on the valid chain. You will still see the odd orphaned block but I'm mining there myself.
