We are not re-writing monero.
DERO blockchain is a new block chain with support of cryptonote protocol and smart contracts. As such no projects exists with cryptonote and smart contracts.
DERO will shift to new blockchain in coming updates. Many additional features are planned on new chain.

From what I understand it enables dero to have smart contracts on a private blockchain. Because ethereum was written in Go, if he can get the cryptonote protocol into go instead of C, he can easily merge ethereum's smart contract system with monero's privacy protocol.

Your card should do 700 H/s - maybe a bit more
This card can give You over 900H/s with proper setup. There is a lot info about setup on forum section Mining Altcoins....
Yep, but YMMV depending on ye olde silicon lottery. Also, the skill level, as not everyone should be doing BIOS mods. I figured that if someone is asking whether or not they should mine a coin that they aren't compiling their own miners and flashing their AMD cards for fun and profit.

Your card should do 700 H/s - maybe a bit more - which will bring in less than 3 DERO per day at the current difficulty. Given that the current price of DERO is $0.60US I would say this isn't the best use of your GPU. However, DERO - like other Cryptonight coins - can be mined with a CPU, and that makes a whole lot of sense even if you only get 1 DERO per day.
My Ryzen 5 1600 can do around 450 H/s after lots of tweaking to xmr-stak, or it can do 380 H/s with Claymore's CPU Miner v3.9 with no tweaking whatsoever. My older FX-8300 can do 325 H/s with xmr-stak, or around 290 H/s with Claymore.
So maybe don't use your GPU for this coin, but definitely use your CPU.

Anyone else seeing occasional socket errors/disconnects on the official pool (pool.dero.live), or is it just me? Xmr-stak reconnects and keeps mining, but it's happened several times today so far and this hasn't been an issue for a couple weeks now.
that was with the nitro pool. When the 3333 port was connected to a powerful rig and a small static diffThat was a separate incident involving one joker, according to Speedie (the pool operator); what I was referring to are the connectivity issues that seemed to always strike in the middle of the night when I first started mining a couple weeks ago. There was also a rash of blockchain out of sync issues at that time, so it was impossible to tell for sure what the real problem was.
At any rate, it sounds like I am not alone in having connectivity issues today, but as I said before these aren't fatal/unrecoverable disconnects so I'm not too concerned.

The pool is alive and accepting hashes. The mobile site works but the desktop version needs a small fix.
The pool is also disconnecting people but it is not banning anyone. Given how response CaptDero is I'm sure both issues will be resolved soon!
