Why would there be any pump and the wallet is still Beta?
Time will tell, but could be another pump and dump nonetheless.
It just means the software is in the test phase.
That's why I don't think anybody would throw money on it at this stage unless someone knows that the dev is developing something?

Did you try resyncing after deleting previous remnants of blockchain you may have had? It's only 1.2 gigs so it shouldn't take that long. Do you see that you are connected to the network to sync or what does it say in the status at the bottom right of the window? I could upload my block chain if it helps.
