The CLSAG signature has been integrated and deployed on the test network. The test network data shows that the transaction size has been reduced from 2.4 to 1.9, which is about 20%. We will continue to do some optimizations, thanks to the Monroe community.

We have completed the integration of CLSAG ring signature and will release it shortly. CLSAG enables smaller and faster transactions with rigorous security. After using CLSAG, the database size will be further reduced by 25%. In v3 version we will integrate Triptych.
Recently, we have fixed many theoretical errors of the Block-DAG convergence algorithm (the original theoretical designed by us has serious problems in large-scale operation). At the same time, we fixed a serious error in p2p synchronization in the Block-DAG environment.
Our audit partner found that the Block-DAG solution has vulnerabilities that may be used by people to initiate double-spend attack and fork. Vulnerabilities are fixed before starting the DMCH project so no serious impact happened at DMCH network. Hope other projects that adopt the Block-DAG solution will review and update the code in time
We have verified the combination of VRF and Block-DAG, and we are about to test this solution.
We have also experimented with schemes such as gathering block rewards and changing block data storage methods. Our goal is to reduce the block size by 10 times and increase the synchronization speed by 10 times.

As we said in the announcement on August 26, we have completed the following adjustments and optimizations in version 2.1.9:

Daemon:
1. Modify Block-DAG's "tips" selection algorithm. If there is only one "tip", then this "tip" will be selected. If there are multiple "tips", then "tip" will be selected according to the following rules based on sorting by difficulty :
1.1 Only select "tips" that have transactions and votes.
1.2 If "tip" contains the same transaction or the upper level "tip" contains the same transaction, only the first "tip" is selected.
1.3 In the case that the above requirements cannot be met, select the first "tip".

2. Modify PoS reward distribution rules (Reduce the block size and prepare for v3.):
2.1 The rewards generated by PoS mining are changed to be distributed once an hour (240 heights). The rewards will be sent to PoS miners after 96 heights.
2.2 PPoS node rewards are changed to be distributed once a day (5760 heights). The rewards will be sent to PPoS nodes after 96 heights.

3. Modify the PoS signature rule: when a node receives a signature request for an empty block, if the corresponding block already exists locally, the request will not be relayed.

4. PPoS nodes operation rewards suspended (check 8.24 announcement for more info)

We checked the article about Block-DAG published by the community on Medium. DMCH implements Block-DAG technology slightly differently. Therefore, our team has written a technical document and hopes to make some contributions to the on-chain capacity expansion technology.
We will further explain how DMCH tries to solve the problem of Block-DAG transaction redundancy through the combination of VRF and Block-DAG. The solution can theoretically reduce the block size.

In order to ensure a smooth upgrade from v2 to v3, v2 will make some changes in next update:
1. The block time is changed to 60 seconds, and the corresponding reward for each block is increased by 4 times.
2. In order to reduce the block size, PPoS node rewards distribution is changed to one day (60X24 blocks) and PoS rewards distribution is changed to four hours (60x4 blocks).
3. For Blocks with no transaction or blocks with the same transaction at one block height, the DMCH system will choose the block with the most accumulated difficulty for the tips of the extended blocks of those blocks.

The DMCHv3 version is expected to be officially launched in 2-3 months. DMCHv3 will formally introduce DMCH Stable Coin (DSC), which is the stable currency of DMCH. DSC will be used for settlement of all DMCH ecosystem and will be pegged in a ratio of 1:1 with USDT.
The DSC issue algo is still under discussion. We plan to distribute PPoS node operating rewards in the form of DSC. This means that the PPoS node operation rewards in August, September, and October will be suspended. After DMCHv2 is upgraded to DMCHv3, DSC will be issued to PPoS nodes. We plan to determine the exchange rate of DMCH and DSC for PPoS node operation rewards in August, September, and October based on market prices.

We have discussed the topic of VRF PoS signature internally, we share the design concept with you, and hope to get your valuable feedback.
A verifiable random function(VRF) is a mathematical operation that takes some input and produces a random number along with a proof of authenticity that this random number was generated by the submitter. The proof can be verified by any challenger to ensure the random number generation is valid.
1. The VRF algorithm is proposed as a new consensus model based on cryptography. Its advantages are fast consensus, anti-attack capability, and extremely low computing requirements (more economical). The industry’s existing solutions include the Algorand algorithm proposed by the Turing Award winner Micali and the algorithm based on BLS in DFINITY.
2. VRF is used for a valid block selection algorithm to solve anonymity and randomness. The specific method is to first set a reasonable threshold. The node uses its private key to operate (such as a signature) on a certain random data. If the result is less than the set threshold, it is a valid block, and the miner is rewarded.
3. In the above process of selecting a valid block, since the private key operation can only be performed by the node itself, it is ensured that other nodes do not know the owner of the valid block. However, the result of the calculation (such as a signature) can be publicly verified, thus ensuring that the legitimacy of the block right can be verified, forming a complete selection process of valid blocks.
4. This method is probabilistic. If you want a certain block height to have as many effective blocks as possible, you need to increase the threshold as much as possible; conversely, if you want a certain block height to have a few valid blocks as possible, you need to lower the threshold as much as possible. This feature can be perfectly combined with the features of blockdag. When the transaction frequency is low, the threshold is lowered, so that the chain is in a "single" chain state most of the time. When the transaction frequency is high and the chain is relatively congested, increase the threshold to make the chain generate blocks in parallel, and the "single" chain state changes to the DAG state (three times the TPS). This design achieves the perfect combination of block size and transaction performance.

VRF process:
1. Number each mature vote in the system.
2. The node calculates whether it can win the vote through the VRF.
3. Broadcast signature requirements by PoW.
4. The PoS node signs and response to the PoW node request.

Advantage:
1. Because the signature is random and completely unpredictable, the vote can be redeemed at any time even in a mature state without locking. The introduction of VRF can greatly reduce the maturity time of votes, improve security, randomness, and user experience.
2. The technical requirements for the PoS node are higher because if the PoS node is not online after the vote is selected, the profit will be lost. Besides, the miss rate of PoS nodes can be counted, and users have more indicators to choose high-quality nodes.
3. The combination of VRF and blockdag can control the number of blocks produced in parallel according to actual transaction requirements, so it can reduce invalid and duplicate data on the chain.
4. Because both PoW and PoS nodes are anonymous and unpredictable, the block hash of DMCH is anonymous and can be used as an external fair random number.
5. The VRF module can also provide unpredictable random numbers and encryption proofs for DMCH smart contracts, and the data can be verified on the chain, providing more application scenarios for the DMCH ecosystems.

DMCHv3 adopts the PoW+PPoS method and only uses the VRF module. DMCHv4 will adopt PPoS and introduce VDF features to make DMCH more perfect.
