Yes, I agree in principle. Let us see how extended beta tests of the new wallet go and see network behaviour after the reduction. Everything appears to be going smooth and well so far.

We can start drawing more detailed plans on how to kick start community building. We should not rest all our hopes on a single one-time PR service but rather create a cohesive strategy that in the longer run bring higher interest in this coin.

I think we should put some time and effort into making the main website a good starting point for newcomers. At the moment it's more directed at people who already know something about crypto and generally it's not accessible to newbies.

Anyone willing to help with that aspect?

If you take a look here https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dmd/#!extraction you will notice that there are 3 public pools danbi's, MiningField US and Donkey's . the first two are the biggest and both operators are part of the Diamond community. Not sure about the Donkey, but haven't heard any complaints about that pool.

Even though there is no risk of 51% attack coming from the biggest two pools it's always advisable to spread hash among different pools.

You can of course mine solo and possibly get best results, but to do that effectively you need to have a reasonable amount of hashing power.

We're gonna have sharp reward reduction soon so better hurry with mining, you won't be able to mine as many coins as you can now.  

Can someone suggest the best place to mine this wonderful coin? Like a really good pool or something?

I sell my dmd long time now and sad to do so look forward if 2nd coming

So two weeks ago I upgraded my pool server ubuntu 12.04 to 14.04 and recompiled all of my wallets.
diamondd crashes after an hour or so. I went as far as deleting everything - /usr/bin/diamond, ~/Diamond and .Diamond and started from scratch, several times in fact - for two weeks.  I just tried it a few hours earlier with the new version  "v2.0.5.2" and am having the same issues. It only seems to crash while mining if that helps. I just cleared db and debug logs and restarted, I can post some parts of the logs when it crashes again.

Support is still broken for Raspberry Pi/Pi 2 in the DMDCoin repository. I submitted a pull request to Danbi weeks ago to fix the issue, but it was right after he pulled from my repo initially, so I assume he didn't see it.

I'll submit a pull request to the main repo so you can look it over. I just merged DMDCoin/master into mine, so it's an automatic merge on your end at the moment.

quick overview at specs after 1000000

pow blocktime 100s reward 0.2 (foundation share 0.01)
pos blocktime 100s 50% per year
pos min age 1 day

(the coinrolloutplan is unchanged just the blocktimes and the pow rewards are asjusted but create the same amount of coins as in coinrolloutplan
the future rewards reduction for pos stay at the same triggers as in original plan so 50% pos will stay active until 1500000 total coins (then 25% stage begins))

average blocktime will be between 50 and 60 sec so we even become a bit faster by this adjustments

some adapations in diff calc engine
increased support of minicomputers like rasperry pi / pi2

important for pool owners to adapt their pool code for foundation share at 1000000 to the lower value

around trigger 1000000 is suggest as much people as possible go solo mining until first pools are confirmed to be adapted successful

i think peercoin is a excellent coin together with their side projects like nubit and so on

but peercoin is no undervalued underdog close before a pow reward reduction

as a investor u have to look at a few parameter

first: is the actual price low or high
(buy in when its still low is the golden rule.....)

second: is it a project with longterm dedicated people
(else u waste  money into a soon dead coin....)

Let it be known that novacoin has good premine is 100k coins are sent to the alleged non-existent address.

Exactly, no one is FORCED to mine Diamond, miners mine for profit, it seems there must be profit to be made if the network hashrate stays relatively high at all times.

PoW participants agreed to contribute to the development of this coin by joining the network.

Each miner gets full reward just as it was set from day one in 2013 - 1 DMD per sloved block.

The foundation contribution is an added amount (on top). So no one is stealing anything form anyone.

Anyway, if you don't distinguish between theft and accountable management for obvious betterment of investors, then I can't help you.

steal as far as i understand englisch is take from someone without him know and aggree to it

foundation share part of POW mining is described in our coin specs and by mine DMD u agree to the specs
(and foundation share isnt take away from miners reward but additional generated
see it as a slow release of dev funds to make sure it cant be abused for a quick dump and abandon coin)

so where exactly we fullfil definition of steal?

this coin have no premine no dev funds
the foundation share is the best possible way to support a coin team
and still be sure they dont dump their 1-10% premine on market and leave the coin alone

and after 1000000 total coin trigger the foundation share will be around 7.2 DMD a day

we have to think hard how we can abuse that ..........

we need like half month of ot to fund the DMD Multipool lotto price

Don't you have some more Fake accounts to create.  It's amazing to me that all these new accounts are somehow drawn to this shitcoin, when coins like nxt have so much more to offer.  You want a pos coin, check out novacoin. They don't steal from the people mining it.

On the other hand to inform people about Diamond we need people.
I see each and every genuine holder of Diamond its ambassador.
Especially now when the times in crypto are tough and such contribution is the most valuable.
Above all, other users are more likely to take interest in a certain coin if it was recommended by a friend rather than flash news.

The problem with PR services like the one we were discussing is the information on DMD could be just a blip in the general noise of everyday news.
To make the most of this type of medium of communication we should be prepared to sustain reoccurring and periodical usage of such PR service.

Chilo put up himself for writing an article, but he hasn't been very active recently so not sure what the current status of that is.
