@Tyke
A few errors I noticed: website address is now http://bit.diamonds
Also the info from the birthday announce https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=580725.msg7799098#msg7799098 date=1405134300 should be added to History section.
And make reference to this thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-dmd-diamond-30-scarce-valuable-secure-pos-30-masternodes-65-580725 should be mentioned as this is the active thread now.

Thank you for helping.  I am aware that there are three bitcointalk threads.  The above pages are only a teaser as the one I have written has more content.  I will change the official website Smiley

dont spend BTC for voting! (better spend btc to buy more dmd   Cool )
create a mintpal account deposite some little btc amount buy some other coins
(or deposit and sell some other coins which are traded at mintpal)
after that u able to vote each hour for free
once u did one trade on mintpal u allowed to vote each hour without need to pay

place #141 now

i set a bounty from my own wallet (not foundation)

paying 1 DMD to everyone who reached a new rank

i dont approve that text tyke

it tell nothing about the important time of diamond evolution

its unimportant outdated info without presenting the reader the true strength of coin and the ideas behind the coin setup

wait for the soon to be release article about us to learn more

From 1st of August http://dmdpool.digsys.bg will introduce 1% mining fee. Let's hope this will encourage the creation of more mining pools for Diamond.

Local pool helps more, because your miner's interaction with it will have much lower RTT and usually less congestion (since telcos decided to play ISPs things with overselling the same bandwidth to more users only became worse). So just bring more pools for Diamond Smiley
Exactly Smiley and that's why I have such terrible results your pool at close to 300ms each direction I get as many rejects as accepted Sad
Hence the multiple endpoint solution sugessted a few posts back, I get low latency/rtt to WP endpoint I'm using so it makes more sense for me to mine there and just buy DMD which also has a good effect on DMD by providing upward pressure on price Smiley

Thank you popshot, have you seen the project I have been working on.  I am currently reading about how DMD was saved back in mid December.  When I have written the four page section on DMD, I will be happy to post it here for the community to check over.

I have just seen the format and noticed that Diamond logo made its way to the front cover.
Will dive into it when finished. Please note that there's going to be an independent article written about Diamond; should be out today or tomorrow. We gave an interview, so most likely you will learn about our history in greater detail. We will refer a link here once it's published.

Thanks Cheesy

We need permanent nodes on each continent with high speed backbone connections to each other ...

You need permanent nodes 'locally' because these nodes will feed you new blocks when syncing. For example, after you have not started your wallet for a while. Other than that, the permanent nodes will not change much.

Your wallet will receive a list of other nodes from any node to which it connects, so it will have that list and will establish connections to other node as possible (trying one by one until it connects to as many as configured). Any blocks you generate will be broadcast to all your connected nodes and will then find their way trough the network (the same way, the next node will broadcast to everybody etc).

The high speed backbone connections... once upon a time (read: 25 years ago), we had a single 64kbit line connecting (the whole of) Europe and (the whole of) the US. We used that mostly for bulk e-mail and news transfer, but also for interactive TCP/IP sessions. That was before then web existed. The mortal users had typically a 9600 bps dialup modems. With very big latencies. At that time, it was possible to talk about 'faster backbone between sites'.
Today, the latency in your LAN is in microseconds, at least a Gigabit Ethernet. The bandwidth between continents increase, but latency remains the same --- around 100ms Europe-US -- actually limited by the speed of light. We can expect latency to go down only when we move to another transport medium, not fiber optic.

Local pool helps more, because your miner's interaction with it will have much lower RTT and usually less congestion (since telcos decided to play ISPs things with overselling the same bandwidth to more users only became worse). So just bring more pools for Diamond Smiley

I am confused now lol - I thought these figures, 60 seconds (PoW) and 600 seconds (PoS) were the block times.  It says below that the difficulty retarget is every block.

PoW and PoS work independently of each other, so block time will be different for each of the protocols.

check blockexplerer and diff and seek throught a lot of blocks

u will see most block have high diff that are POW blocks some blocks have low diff that are POS blocks

and u will see lot more POW blocks happens around 10x more......

why we chose "slow" pos blocks?

fast pos  blocks load up blockchain unnessesary at hybrid POS/POW coins

we dont need a POS every min we have POW to take care of transactions

we only need POS for the stake coins protect network and to payout the earned POS rewards

if ya waited a month to mint new rewards u dont need instant rewarded with lot pos-blocks once u set wallet into minting mode

other coins do this and its a big danger of forking

if pos blocks roll out that fast that they start confirming each other but all come from same wallet...

its just one of a lot POS traps we fixed at diamond

maintain POS coins need deep understanding of mechanics and code (as danbi have)
or a big BTC wallet to pay regulary one of the few freelancer who really know how it works
this is a path lot coins go and i see it as a big danger to be not able maintain own wallet code

maybe you should set up a MP proxy that uses WP as a backend and pays out in DMD (for example as KTK mining pool does).

hmmmm u should  seek a job as fortune teller......

This is the map of the IPs my wallet is currently connected to:

http://batchgeo.com/map/be075e876e5d72da828adf7ae996fd3f

(+ mine which is in northern Italy)

Nice. Seems we need some node/wallets in Asia. They are notoriously absent Cheesy
My solution is to mine on Wafflepool (has endpoints in uswest, useast, europe, and asia) and just buy DMD Smiley with WP profits ...

@Danbi maybe you should set up a MP proxy that uses WP as a backend and pays out in DMD (for example as KTK mining pool does).

Unfortunately I have a lot of DMD stuck on Cryptsy until they pull their heads out of their asses and get wallet working ...

Diamond is in my book called Cryptocurrency "The Alt-ernative" Beginner's Reference.  Here is first draft of IFC:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.7131241

MAIN CRYPTOCURRENCY BOOK THREAD: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/cryptocurrency-the-alt-ernative-beginners-reference-book-483187

All 50 coins were chosen via a bitcointalk.org vote back on the 16th of March.  Any coins released after the 16th of March have not reached this book and won't have a chance of substituting these coins.  All coins by now have existed long enough in order for substantial cotent to be written about them.

Diamond will look similar to this.  Coin specifications, history, exchanges and other miscellaneous details will be included.  Please help fund the publication of this book which I plan to publish this summer.

On the official Diamoind website in the section "Overview, it says that the "Block solving target time" is 600 seconds and 60 seconds.  Which one is correct?

both......
the POW difficulty try to adjust to find a block each 60 sec
the POS difficulty try to adjust find a block all 600 sec

Try a ping to 65.130.226.208 which is my current IP

Latency quite high. Over 300 ms.
Just as I figured, I get 287 ms to the permanent official node in the UK?

We need permanent nodes on each continent with high speed backbone connections to each other ...

I had high latency problems with Danbi's pool also ...
