Completely agreed. Also, after all is tested and working, a countdown for at least 24h would be nice for the people to be ready.

And about image embedding, if there's a will, there are means.
Simplest that come into my mind is announcing by text the date/time (and timezone) and also a link (if you are allowed) to the timer.

Take your time. Miners may get impatient, but they will get really upset if your release fail code.
