Cool interview with CryptoBeadles 👍 Always entertaining to see the person behind the project. I find DUSK to be very interesting. How far along are you guys? When do you think the official launch will be? All the best towards your goals!

Where can I find this interview? Is it a podcast?

I think he's talking about this one:

Thanks, i missed the AMA!
I would have asked that what in your opinion is the most groundbreaking feature of Dusk, and do you have other visions on how the Dusk Network could be used in the future? ( something other then securities ).

Congratulations on the listing Mels and thanks for AMA. Can you shed some light on your recent releases. You guys have been releasing a lot of material, most significantly is your research on the zero knowledge contracts. Can you shed some light on the significance of those releases and how they make Dusk special.

Great question. Basically our research on zero-knowledge(ZK) aims to bridge the gap between trustlessness and compliance. Traditionally, the only way to prove the truthfulness of a statement or the correctness of a process outcome has been to fetch the input of such process, do the computation and compare if the outcomes match. For example to know if you are allowed to access a service, a traditional cloud-based application would need to verify knowledge of a secret password by comparing it with the one it saved. ZK technology would allow to validate knowledge of a secret without the need to reveal the secret and then compare it. By expanding this to decentralized processing you can keep transactional privacy and prove mathematically the adherence to a predefined protocol. We use this to enforce compliance to legal frameworks (through the XSC standard) as well as any arbitrary decentralized processing (i.e. smart contracts)

This seems quite what crypto needs, if you think is going to reach the "privacy" of a bank account, just you and the other party involved in a payment will now it happened, quite cool  Cool

So, DUSK will be listed on bitfinex and ethfinex on 11th July. Does this mean that testnet is ready?

I am curious to see what effect the listing will have. these days you never know.

The browser nodes are helping the network with verification of various zero-knowledge proofs in order to lighten the CPU load of the full nodes. The aim is to expand these browser nodes into full fledge block generators (which will participate to the consensus and get the rewards when they produce an accepted block) or verifiers (who can verify a zero-knowledge computation on behalf of the network).

I meant if it takes 1 minute to generate a proof and less than 1 second to verify it depending on the node's CPU, how is it possible to receive a new proof so quickly? Currently they come every 4 seconds, but yesterday it seemed like the bottleneck was the node's CPU, not the proofbox.

Looks like that question was answered in the AMA with Dusk today on EthFinex's Telegram channel.

I did not know about the 90 ms ZK proof generation. Did they announce that?

Maybe this is also due to the fact that the test network probably has almost no transactions? Therefore, the speed is high. Well, maybe I'm wrong. Or not quite understood your thought.

With the zero-knowledge VM it is very easy to create a privacy-empowered stablecoin. If the stability method is asset-based (like Tether) even XSC can be used for that. If it is algorithmic (like DAI), it can be created directly on top of the VM.

This is going to be interesting, but it's definitely would be in a the legal gray area imho.

Could someone technically make an anonymous version of DAI stable token inside Dusk network since this chain is very much invested in privacy?

Im not sure if this possible according law. Because they need keep records about backed funds... But seems this year should be a year of anonymous coins. Origo, which is privacy coin too, has been made 10x from the burrom. So Dusk should hit 1$ in some time  Roll Eyes

But if it's anonymous, who exactly would need to keep records? Technically you need to keep records on privacy coin profits on my country but how would they force that?

So bitfinex and ethfinex will list erc token on Thursday and bnb token is already listed on binance dex.

But i wonder if people want to make arbitrage is there a way?

Like if bitfinex token price is 0.50$ and binance dex is 0.40$ is there a way to swap tokens? If not price may be very different for the same token on different chains.

I think the market(i mean investors) will balance the prices between two exchanges. There will be no opportunity for arbitrage between exchanges.

I don't think there is going to be a big gap. Anyway the fact binance has his own token and the other exchanges uses the good old erc20 make impossible doing any arbitrage i reckon.

Maybe what you say is true but we have to keep up with the future so that we really know what's going on later and let's see if they will balance the price between two exchanges or not

just pass to say i read the article about the anon smart contracts and tokens! that is quite an awesome feature, when is it going to be available in the test net?   Tongue
