I don't have as much experience as many incredible members here, but I'm guessing that I am correct in asserting that purchasing ECC right now at only 0.00000001 BTC and holding for a very short time until ECC is added to a few more exchanges is a good move.

The reason I assume such is that the price increased almost immediately when it was added to coinexchange.io because all newbie traders just love purchasing the new coin on the block (the block here being the exchange).

What are your thought guys?

The coin should rise in price as soon as i get the next update out which will be the first of a few different types of nodes people can run for network services. The first one to be added to the coin will be file storage on the blockchain.

the code is being worked on here: https://github.com/Greg-Griffith/ECCoin/tree/service-node-integration

here is a video preview of the off chain client i developed: https://youtu.be/jC_-TjegG9Y

The original solution was developed off chain and i am not working on integrating it into the ECC network itself (which will be given a name at some point) so that it is usable with the coin. then work on the next type of node will begin (should be email or something similar to a messaging service)

When can we expect the next update?

Regards

Goldmaxx

im working on it. im updating some of the messaing section to be on par with bitcoins latest (last nights commits were starting that process) and then i have to edit that for the node types that i want to include (the storage node being the first one). but the storage code itself is done and included. so not long at all. To be honest, i think making additions to the gui so that people dont have to use the RPC console to do a lot of the file stuff will actually take the longest

Going to the moon Grin Grin Grin

You are wrong! Not to the moon... NOt at All!

It's going to... "be developed".

The moon does not bring any value. Developing and engineering trial contributions so the community can test, will bring value. And later if adopted as a sort of tool useful in some kind of existing service, then there you will have lots of value.

I never understood why the moon is so damn valuable... even mars has more value.

Here are some others that are doing the file storage. They also talk about pricing so maybe that can be a good indicator.

That said, many blockchain-like solutions designed just to store data were developed recently. https://storj.io/ seems to be famous and well developed. http://filecoin.io/ is another such solution which is yet to materialize.

Do you know the storage part is based on?

You can read the white paper from storj.io here : https://storj.io/storj.pdf

Looks interesting... Wish they could distinguish tiering... (quality of IO).

I hold ECC since the day it was launched...
It had many ups and downs (mostly downs though) through the years.
ECC is trading at 1 sat, so there is much potential from where we are right now...
The next few weeks will be very important for the future of this coin.

development is going more or less right on schedule. by the end of the day i should have a working file sharing test going assuming i didn't mess up the P2P messaging too bad. I did develop it on a separate network because the current ECC clients are missing a lot of code and it was faster to make a new chain for testing instead of waiting for enough people to update. so a demo (or demo video) should be out by wednesday night and then some announcements about getting it into the ECC blockchain itself will follow.

for fees for doing file stuff, i was thinking of using the same KB fee system as it would be to send a transaction (larger file larger fee just like larger transaction larger fee). thoughts on that?

If you recording the data on the blockchain, then yes... incentive that. Otherwise the cost should be somehow related to the amount of changes (metadata) and not directly involved with the data volume.

Did the explorer entered a fork?

Something like this would be useful:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=35214.20

I have tons of entries with non-confirmed stakes.

EDIT: Doing a new wallet to check the savings in my case from the original wallet file.

RESULTS = 4MB save after rescanning the blockchain with a new wallet (rescanning with current wallet does not persist across wallet restarts-> there is a problem somewhere...).

ECC needs an LTC & Doge Market that are reported to CMK, if you want this coin to have any trading volume.

its not that they arent being reported. its that they dont exist. There is only a satoshi market on coinexchange for ECC.

Let me clarify,
even if they did exist CoinExchange.io does not currently report any markets except BTC.
If you look here :
http://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/coinexchange/

Only BTC pairings are listed, No LTC, Doge, ETH or ETC pairing are being updated, even thru they have markets for all of those.

 Cool

ohhhhhhhh. i did not notice that. nice catch

edit: also PMd you
