I am happy to see Griffith is still developing this Coin. Looking forward regarding the file Storage. - Maybe competing with Storj and Sia Coin...who knows.

I will have a talk to Griffith what we can do at the marketing side. Perhaps Youtube or Twitter Ads might be not too bad. Or an advertising Banner on Coinmarket Cap

To achieve like Sia - Decentralized Storage that ECC prices will surge。。

@Griffith

Can you share information with us about how the filestorage on the blockchain will work?
Is it easy to use with drag and drop for example?
How does the user have to pay.... is it monthly, yearly or doesn't it have a time limit
Can a user use it to store and share it's documents with selected users or  are the documents only available for him?
Can it be used to store contracts of any kind and size so that law firms, real estate firms and so on can use it?

How are you planning to advertise it?

Thanks.

Very good to see that the development of ECC continues. For those that also have Super in their portfolio....congrats with the recent price jump! The moment for ECC to make the price jump is also coming closer each day, especially now Griffith is working this hard on the new applications for the coin.

I expect that the price jump can go to 10 SAT or more.

Succes!

I have both ECC and Super, a LOT of both! Just want to echo that thank you for your continuing development of these coins.

pushed a bunch of code changes to the dev branch tonight. GUI has bugs that need to be fixed but the actual coin code for the new upgrade works pretty well so far.

im actually considering deleting the GUI code from the ECC repo all together with this next upgrade and migrating it to a new repo for just GUI code that communicates with the wallet which would always be running as a daemon. This would also mean the coin would be moving towards having an installer rather than just downloading the new executable to run locally.

This would take a lot of work code wise and probably quite a few days so im unsure if i will be proceeding with that this update or put it off.

Will there be any other exchanges added?

We will be working towards that after the next wallet update yes.

Thanks for the link, syncing now.

Syncing from scratch is slow because your client needs to download all the existing blocks and also verify every single transaction.

I will be stealing the "assumed valid blocks" code from bitcoin so that you dont actually have to do all of this anymore. it makes syncing a bunch faster and adds 0 additional security risks

Today my wallet crashed again. I was Encrypting it, and after putting password it closed. When trying to open wallet again, it crashed. Sent all the files to replace, from pendrive, but also put wallet.dat without realizing (wallet.dat file pryor to encryption)
Now it works but is not encrypted. Wasn't supposed that that file would not work or asked for password? (I think i did read that while encrypting wallet)

In regards to staking, is it the same having one big transaction or several smaller? (with total value being the same)

Glad that you sorted your problem, Anotherlateminer  Smiley

yeah. there are a few GUI only bugs out there. If you encrypt a wallet.dat then it only encrypts that copy of the wallet.dat file. so if you have backups they will contain the same keys with no encryption. Best practice is to backup the wallet.dat. encrypt it. test it to make sure it works as expected. then delete the unencrypted backups and back up the new encrypted wallet.dat file.

It is better to stake with several smaller transactions. You will get selected as your coins to stake more often. rewards will be the same for staking several smaller as they would be for one larger (proportionally % the same)

Hi everyone.

sorry about going quiet for a few days. I started my new job at intuit and my laptop broke during travel so i had to buy a new one which i just got today. Someone posted earlier about the website being down... there was scheduled maintenance on the power grid in the town that the servers are running in. i was told that power to everything would be restored by the end of today so the site and such will be back up tomorrow.

I need to restore all of my development virtual machines and stuff tonight from the backups i have and while thats running will go back through the posts on the thread that i missed and answer any questions as well as answer any PMs that i havent yet responded too.
I knew you would not abandon us  Cheesy

Any news on new wallet? Anyway, i already have a lot of practice restoring mine and right now is just a matter of minutes to recover everything. I always keep a recent copy of blockchain near  Grin

Any update about the new wallet, Griffith?
Not putting pressure on you, but must admit i'm a bit anxious to get the new wallet, as this one bugs a bit...
Once you have the method and conditions (copy of good blockchain and other files) is quite easy and fast to solve, but prefer not having to worry about it.

I am still running version ECCoin:2.4.7.5 on MAC. This version is without any problems for me until now. The main reason that I didn't go to ECCoin:2.4.7.7 is simply because it was not possible to compile this version, it is giving to many errors and I am not able to resolve those ( I am not a coder ). If Griffith wants he can try himself on my computer (teamviewer) to resolve those problems. He will then have a mac wallet available for distribution.

So i received ECC before i was born!

And website still showing offline for me. Anyone can reach cryptounited.io?

For some reason I got this:

I won't be happy while syncing it from the scratch Smiley Is there a snapshot or bootstrap available?

Hi Anotherlateminer.
I had several times same error. It's a known issue for Griffith. When we close wallet it does not save blockchain well, so you must delete the folders and files i wrote in previous post (database, metachain, txleveldb folders and .lock, blk0001.dat files.) and start with fresh wallet. I'm pretty sure you know you must have a safety copy from your wallet.dat file.

Try this snapshot from Kiklo and see if it works. I always have a separate copy of my latest working blockchain in my computer for when that happens, and if that one from Kiklo doesnt work for you i may try to upload mine and let link here. Let me know if it worked.

By the way, maybe a "noob" question, but why does sync from scratch takes so much time? Couldn't the wallet simply download the blockchain from a reliable source and start working from that point? Afterall is 1.5 Gb of data (uncompressed - in a zip would be even less), should not take so much time to download...

Still only getting at most 1 connection, even with all those nodes added. Wallet not syncing. Sad

edit: Cryptounited.io is down for me, too. For a week at least.

I get 1 connection also, but wallet sync well.
Some days ago Cryptounited website was working for me, but now seems down for me too.

Yeah, after 2-3 hours mine started syncing, too. At least that.
