How the fuck does one even compile?

It is sad that 99/100 people can't mine a coin becouse of a fucking non-compiled QT.
Goodbye even before I trew 0.1 kh/s in this shitpile of clusterfucks.

I am sorry for swearing, I am quite sad these days.

actually the daemon/console interface work as well if not better than the QT interface, the steps to solo mine is almost exactly the same with QT interface. The only difference is there  isn't a graphical interface... really sick of whiner noobs because they dont even try.

Just let this fail of a launch die already, it went as bad as it possibly ever can. Just add a wallet stealer and you have a 100% failure in here.

No kidding. I gave up on it last night at 2:30AM my time. Had scrypt miners pointed at the pool given so it would be picked up when it came on - but it never did. Total fail.

is there a good calculator for this coin?

There's no exchange rate so what do you want to calculate? Difficulty is the same as litecoin so you can use one of those calculators for mining probability.

Went to sleep about a half hour/hour after the launch time, wake up and there are new pools and on block 11k already...pretty irritated, I was hoping he would push launch back until same time today.  Better late than never, pointed over to vern's pool, coins coming in, going to be a good day at work.

O
what is verns pool.  I went to sleep during the night and come back to find 72 pages of shit lol

Stratum is stuffed on this pool, and if you've got anything under 1MH/s don't even bother, diff is 15 on GetWork but still more rejects and stales than Accepts by a large margin.

POOL OPERATOR TAKE NOTE: FIX STRATUM

Im using the Stratum and only sending 450khs and im doing ok and getting coins.

only people that can mine it is linux users, no client for windows

It's not like Linux user received a 'Linux Binary' with the distribution of the code.
We had to actually compile the code to get a working binary.

You could follow the directions in the doc directory and -- make a 'windoze' binary just the same way.
Linux people didn't have the binary 'handed' to them.... sheesh.

Have you tried this? The code doesn't actually build out of the box, but the instructions don't tell you what to do, and you have to piss about.

Compiling programs on Windows is, like, the equivalent in annoyingness and fiddliness of getting your audio driver and wifi and 3d acceleration working on Linux Wink

(and the opposite is true... building stuff from source on Linux is super-easy, in fact probably easier than installing your audio drivers on Windows because at least you don't have to reboot)

I actually minted a coin while solo-mining at 28kH/s Smiley

To the windows binary complainers: sure getting a compiled windows client is nice, but then you'll never know if it contains a stealer/trojan/virus. AV software can't possibly detect something that has not been reported yet. All the linux guys (and the Mac OS dudes) had to compile the source as wel. This is not the reason to cry "failed launch". The delays are forgivable too as most altcoins don't even announce in advance.

The real problems are the two blockchains (solved with checkpoints) and the low starting difficulty (not terrible because of 1ELC reward). Why are you guys still crying "worst launch ever?", because you 'mericans stayed up all night? Grin

to be fair... compiling linux binary is much, much, easier than than compiling windoze binary when dealing with all those dependencies isseus.

P/S: I did compiled my own binary.

So, No windows binary at launch - most people don't know how to compile source, and after 9 hours of it being released over 11k blocks have been mined? Hah. Love it. Dif has bumped so high already due to its popularity and insanely quick re-targets. It was fun watching this coin come and go so fast.
