Is there a nice stable pool I anyone recommend? I have been solo mining but would like to try with a pool now.

new coins seem to take a while for difficulty to catch up with the hash rate

Isn't the block target supposed to be 2 minutes? http://www.elacoinpool.com/statsAuth is showing multiple blocks being found in a minute. It's creating a ton of orphans. not cool.

Something's fishy with this coin. There are a massive amount of JR members promoting it.
I'm just going to throw this out there

who the hell is gonna wanna buy this shit lol

Not me. There is a hell of a lot more money in merged-mining all the SHA256 coins.

I still use my CPUs to mine Tenebrix and Faircoin too now that BBQcoin is too difficult for CPUs just because doing that with BBQcoin tunred out so insanely massively profitable that I can well afford to wait for them both to do like BBQcoin did.

(Like BBQcoin they are giving CPU miners month after month to collect coins easily with CPUs so are incredibly fair compared to these recent scam launches, because with Tenebrix and Fairbrix anyone who wants some can come get them real easy, no significant orphan rates just all day all night raking in coins with your CPU, its nice.)

The starting difficulty zero shows it is not the real coin, the extra delay was precisely because it was going to take him a long time to mine the genesis block with proper difficulty OR to change the code so it would not actually check the difficulty of the genesis block.

Someone evidently didn't wait for him to do that, just grabbed the old incomplete code from github and went ahead with that.

There are many blocks per second in the blockchain (many blocks with same second shown in their timestamp for each second)  they are making with the crap off of github, plus it might also be another coin entirely as it seems to be looking for a lot of hosts that don't even accept connections on its port so maybe the code someone ran with doesn't even have the right handshake bytes and so on yet.

I guess looking on the bright side at least this means people have their start scripts set up and their ports configured and so on all ready to go when the real thing does launch...

But OP said it was released AFTER the re-mining of the genesis block delayed launch:

Released.

c4n10: It was trying to upload 5 GB.

Then when ppl had compiled and were getting connections but no blocks he said this:

Launched.

Have fun.

But I don't know if that was an edit...cuz I was watching the thread and don't remember that comment...just a post he made that said simply "git pull"...which I can't find right now.  I was having the same problems of connections but no blocks and after I saw the "git pull" comment I did just that...then I was able to mine.

If people want to get a windows elacoin-qt binary please donate .btc to gather a bounty reward for the one that makes the windows binary.

If we get a windows binary the coin value will go up and windows user will also have a nice wallet then
