The coin has not been released yet, but the code yes so if you had the code you can compile?
The code has being leaked. However, a new genesis block will be used.

Don't tell him/her/it that, he/she/it will continue to spam asking for it rather than look through a few threads

Wrong.  There are not going to be any windows binaries at release time.  So if you use windows you are screwed initially.
