How to solo ?

Follow the guide in mining:

With a Parity client running, you can use any ethash miner (such as ethminer https://github.com/ethereum-mining/ethminer) to mine Ellasim. To mine using your GPU, run "ethminer -G -F http://localhost:8545".

You can optionally use Parity's Stratum support. To do this, start Parity with
Code:
parity --author walletaddress --chain "ellaism.json path as above" --stratum
In ethminer, run with parameter
Code:
ethminer -S 127.0.0.1:8008

Hi all, if you have any problem using Dev Mining Pool (https://pool.ellaism.org/), please let me know. This pool doesn't need to compete with other miners, but it needs just enough hashrate to keep the BTC Relay going. (I currently use the zero gas price feature to run the fetchd script.) Currently with less than 1 block found every hour, it'll never catch up with the Bitcoin block head.

Minerpool will also help to run a BTC Relay fetchd script, which would help to reduce the stress. Smiley

Tried to mine there, but it didn't work. I think you need to enable "Stratum Mining". If I understand correctly, you have only "Getwork".

Stratum should work on pool.ellaism.org:8008. What's the error you got when trying to use the dev pool?

Got it, I only tried with 8888 mentioned at home page http://pool.ellaism.org/ - it works with 8008, thanks.

Price is all over the place at this early stage.

Buy orders are rather short (highest buy offer is currently 0.00000360 but nobody is interested) however just occasionally one gets filled with twenty or thirty coins.

Likewise, occasionally a reasonably low sell order gets filled with a small amount (I see a few offers of 0.00001111 were filled earlier today, and we currently have 0.00000797 as the lowest sell offer, however again it's only 66 Ella).

I think it will take a while to smooth out to a value that buyers and sellers are happy with in the short term.

The good news is that we are not seeing any dumps, which means even early miners see longer term value and stability in the coin.

The last trade was at 48 satoshi which shouldn't be the price of the coin. I expect it to go above 10k sats very easily looking at the supply, no premine and a good team.
Also there were very less coins traded so it doesn't really matter! Let's wait for the buyers to show up and see where it goes.!

mining profit a day has dropped to 0.56$ /100mh according to minerpool

It is calculated based on last trade here: https://trade.cryptobroker.io/markets/ellabtc

And since it's the only exchange, it can be quite misleading.

Hi all, I added a donations page (https://github.com/ellaism/meta/blob/master/donations.md). If you've contributed something to the Ellaism coin, please feel free to open a PR and add your name in the donations list. In the mean time, if you want to work on some ideas related to Ellaism and require funding, you can open an issue https://github.com/ellaism/meta/issues and label it "funding required". Remember to add your donation address in the issue description.

Since the ella.minerpool.net miners are donating automatically to the community wallet, but we are not able to split out the donators, we should perhaps mention it in total as "all Miners contributed automatically" or something...

I added it in the section "special thanks". Smiley

That page and meta issues are mostly for specific projects and active developers/community members. I stole the idea from Monero's Funding Required Forum (https://forum.getmonero.org/8/funding-required).

We now have a first price set. Without Volume and it will not remain I believe, but we have a first price set.

Price and Mining Yield of ELLA is now activated in the Maintable to compare to the other coins:

Cheers  Cool
