They said blockchain technology is still years away from being massively adopted. What more about Genomic Data Markets? Isn't it too early to use blockchains for such use cases?

I think, that this technology could be used in human activity even earlier. but not every inhabitant of the world has information about this structure. for many it looks rather strange, so, there is a factor, through which the development and deployment of technology is frozen

PR Update - CEO, Dr. Koepsell

PR strategy going forward: Everything we do from now on will be based on metrics, with the measure being: does it increase the user base. We can track that using google analytics, and our google cloud console, and correlate to the appearance of news articles, etc. Blog posts, and crypto-focused articles so far have a negligible impact on user base, with the highest recorded jump in users and websites being about half of a percent jump beyond background. Only articles in mainstream press, which our PR guy Chris Powell is constantly working those connections (e.g. Financial Times, Wired, Reuters) have shown to improve acquiring of users beyond background over 1% - background being our ongoing google ads campaigns) and those contacts take a while to nurture, but we are constantly working them.

They said blockchain technology is still years away from being massively adopted. What more about Genomic Data Markets? Isn't it too early to use blockchains for such use cases?

Hey Scambust. Actually we are not giving any fancy usecase to the blockchain but we are using it as a store of transactions and the DNA utility token is the way of payment to purchase genomic data profiles on our marketplace. Its never too early and if you do your research about what we are aiming to do you will find out that Encrypgen is the first with a working product, we launched the Gene-Chain earlier and our goal is to increase the number of transactions on our marketplace (atm its arround 78) and bring more data profiles to the Gene-Chain. Feel free to join our Telegram, Dr. Koepsell is frequently online to answer your questions.

With what you said, it is definitely interesting. I would probably research how much data/store of transactions you can add to the blockchain and being cost-effective. I would also like to know how you can intelligently extract the data profiles from the chain (Like searching with parameters). I hope to see more developments on this.

I would definitely recommend you to ask this in the Telegram directly to the CEO, Dr. Koepsell. He will give you an answer on this questions.

Really think these are far plans that the team is planning to do.
For now, let's see how they implement technical development on a new roadmap, which is still more close in time.
The market now does not appreciate it, but when capitalization begins to grow, the project must be shown that it is ready.
I like the project and added it to my favorites.

I copied this message from Reddit:

I'm really interested in DNA (Encrypgen's token) Here's why:

-v1 product launched this month, you can now upload your genomic data (23andMe tests for example), and sell anonymised versions of this to researchers

-Already has genomic data uploaded to their blockchain controlled marketplace, trades of this data are being made across the network
$20b industry, expected to double in coming years

-In discussions with major genomic labs to rapidly increase amount of data on the chain

-Already partnered with companies like sequencing.com who intend to use DNA tokens in their marketplace

-Growing consumer concerns about companies like 23andMe selling their data to big pharma, Encrypgen allows consumers to own their data and be rewarded if they choose to.

-In discussions with VC funders to accelerate growth now they've proven their capability to build a working blockchain product

-It's an interesting blockchain utilising business designed to challenge 23andMe's business model. There's lots of focus in healthcare on precision medicine being developed, and genomics will play a massive part in that. That's why GSK are partnering with 23andMe, and why Genentech pay millions for data from them. Encrypgen allows you to control who has access to the data, and ensures you receive the bulk of the profit for each time you sell them access to do (unlike 23andMe).

Note - They were just delisted from KuCoin because of low trading volume. KuCoin asked them to pay BTC for 'market making' to keep them on the platform (a bribe). But they refused, as all money is going into development. Cryptopia now the only real place to buy.

actually, listing in one decent exchange is already enough. so if topia is still there, thats great. theres really no need to bribe anyone. good decision to develop their platform. if they have something to offer to their clients, thats much better than more exchanges but without product to offer. exchanges will follow if your product is successful in serving your customers

good to see that DNA token is still being developed, the good doctor is still busy, he is usually on discord or telegram channels if you want to talk.
however there is also a new dna blockchain project:

http://edna.life/

Similar to DNA but it is being built on the EOS blockchain. It is also a POS coin so great staking rewards if you start now.
It can be bought using EOS from Newdex exchange:

https://newdex.io/trade/EDNA_EOS

The total market cap supply is pretty low as well at 1,300,000,000 tokens.
If you own EDNA tokens then you should be staking them here for % returns: https://staking.edna.life/

can two dna based projects survive in the crypto space? Only time will tell!
