Ok I saw the testnet comment. Where is the download for the latest QT? I'm seeing QT from 2 months ago, but I thought this was just released. Linux here.

You seem to be mistaken, how many versions have bitcoin gone through? that's the equivalency of stating that Doge, LTC, BTC and ETH are worse than this project 5 fold. Let's not even start with the regular software companies such as Apple, or M$, you really want to know how many builds they went through and they are STILL not 100%.

Im totally out although I never been in. On some ocassions u will lose money if ure dare enough to invest in a token that needs a patch 5, as it implies the incompetence of makers and dullness of compilers and further sets the precedent for more fails in the future.

Hmmm that is an interesting idea.

The new client will be able to offer p2p messaging like the testnet does encrypted and everything. What we really need to do though for journalists is to have the ability to embed pictures and short videos into the the chain.

That would be something. (Definitely doable)

Excuse the lack of news, currently the testnet client is recompiling, after which the testnet will be offlined and rolled back as the fixes are implemented and publicly tested once more.

ESPERS offers some great features, including encrypted messaging and coming soon polling capabilities. Where Facebook and Twitter want to play games and group thinkers go along with the "fake news" front, rest assured there are others working tirelessly to combat group think and consolidation of ideology.
While it is true that a lot of people never tip journalists for their content (believe me I know) I think there is a window of opportunity here.
ESPERS just swapped a great deal of tokens, with cutoff date of November 10.
I propose utilizing the power of this community to help independent journalism, even if it is a token gesture. Spontaneous combustion is an interesting phenom. Something worth considering.
There could be tip bot, or mechanisms in place to reward journalism or the clips or live streams?
There could be polling and perhaps this could all be arranged directly from the wallet.
This may be a stretch, but I don't think it is too far beyond the realms of reality in terms of promoting content, free and independent press, and to combat the ignorant hate that seems to be on the rise in America like immediately and by way of agenda.
Can ESPERS fight fascism? That is the question.

patch 5 is out? i use patch 4 and it says i use the latest version, do i have to do it manually?

Where can I get Patch 5? Or whatever is the latest on live main net? I just upgraded to a new workstation, and my client is buggering me about the wrong date and time.

*edit* Apparently I'm running Patch 5 already, but client is still bugging me about the date and time. I might do a re-install or something.

*edit* Either I forgot to set the correct time zone, or it changed on me somehow. Client seems to be working and syncing. Should be fine.

It'll move again. it's caused by an issue that was documented (no max adjust).

We'll implement a limit to the maximum adjustment which should resolve the issue.

I cannot get Espers Prototype to sync. Stuck at 299 blocks.
Tried 2 computers. Port is forwarded ok on the router.
9 active connections.

Well so far here are today's testnet conclusions:

1. MIDAS retargetting needs more tuning (currently parked itself on a higher than normal diff and halted the chain (last block 3 hours ago)
2. Working on some backend issues relating with pool setup
3. Color scheme for "dark" theme needs to be fixed up (still displays blue side and bottom bar)
4. Mining needs console output for user interface
