Many people have high expectation on ETC growth, already the price of ETC price reduced to more than half but with the increase in the price of Bitcoin the value of ETC price reduced.

ECIP-1030: Defining the SYSTEM Transaction. This gives a standardized view of SYSTEM transactions -- transactions that are enforced by block validity rules (i.e. if the transaction is not included, it is considered invalid) but not executed by users. Note that this does not change consensus at all, but just gives a unified view of a special type of transactions (which we already have -- block rewards) in preparation of future extension (for example, EIP96 (ethereum/EIPs#210) is one that uses SYSTEM transactions). Using this view, an Ethereum Virtual Machine itself can handle all account state changes without needing additional work from the client.

Ouroboros:  proof-of-stake-based blockchain protocol.

Ouroboros

The unique characteristic of Ouroboros is that the protocol was developed in tandem with a proof of security that aims to communicate in a succinct way that the proposed blockchain protocol satisfies the properties of a robust transaction ledger. Central to the proof is a combinatorial analysis of a class of strings that admit a certain discrete structure that maps to a blockchain fork.

proof of stake protocol ouroboros
Developing a secure Proof-of-Stake protocol is one of the big problems to solved in cryptography. It is the key to blockchains being scaled up to handle many more users than it can at the moment. You only have to look at the hurdles that Proof-of-Work based Bitcoin is facing, as it undergoes a struggle to upgrade its technology, to see why Proof of Stake is important.

Proof-of-Stake protocols have the advantage of avoiding the huge computer processing resources demanded by Proof-of-Work systems – one study showed that the energy required to run Bitcoin’s blockchain was equivalent to the power consumed by a small country.

Situation with Polo is awful. Tickets are not answered for weeks. Please move all the ETC trading to bittrex. Similar volume, but much better support!

Agree, polo not really supporting ETC very well. Last time I sent minimum required funds they didn't even arrive let alone respond to my support ticket. Trading ETC doesn't make sense at this point with all its hook ups.

HODL!!

ETC deposits and withdrawals ok on polo as far as I'm concerned.
Well the problem is on poloniex not on ethereum classic because ETC is one of the few cryptos that has multiple dev teams working on core clients. That means consensus for change is hard. ETC combines the best of BTC and ETH.
1. Storage of Value
2. Censorship Resistance
3. Smart Contracts
4. Hard Cap on Supply
5. Fast TXs
And Reasons to get excited about ETC
1) IOHK's upcoming GUI for Mantis
2) Monetary Policy Upgrade
3) ETC Commonwealth ICO
 Wink

Couldn't agree more, ETC is the best.

I read and heard so many good news about Ethereum Classic, but the price still the same. I don't uderstand why...

i am also waiting for going up into 20$ region, guees we be there in dezember, again!

there are just low buy orders right now, more or less 300 btc. As for me, I don't want to moon ETC yet as I'm not yet done accumulating.  Grin

You are right! But I think the price will be higher at the end of the year. Maybe even more than 20$. So you have enough time))

Ethereum is advertised to use GHOST protocolfor best chain selection. The calculation is done using "total difficulty". The client will always select the chain with larger total difficulty. However, while uncles are included in blocks and miners are rewarded to include them, they do not participate in the calculation of total difficulty thus do not participate in the best chain selection. This deflicts the goal of GHOST protocol, which should always select the chain in which, including stale blocks, is the heaviest. https://github.com/ethereumproject/ECIPs/pull/71

In terms of a road map for Ethereum Classic, Mantis is a stepping stone to bigger things, A group of Ethereum Classic developers wants Ethereum Classic to be known as more than a “cut-and-paste” version of the Ethereum blockchain. So they spent seven months building Mantis, a unique Ethereum Classic client, from scratch.
