Future of Ethereum Classic depends mostly on overall market condition.

But the project itself doesn't look bad.
I have just saw a news:
https://tokentops.com/news/ethereum-classic-launches-sdk-for-building-dapps-ethereum-classic-etc-cryptocurrency-news-september/
So maybe with this new launched SDK we will get increased use of ETC platform?

I was just thinking about dApps for ETC. Is there a reason why there are still more dApps for Ethereum than for Ethereum Classic? And the most important question - can ETC network be "put to it's kees" like Ethereum was when CryptoKitties came out?

I still don't see any big dApp being built up on ETC, and ETC network has never been put to its limits in the past. Saturn Wallet might be a good player for ETC dApps in upcoming months though.

CryptoKitties and EtherDelta literally destroyed Ethereum back in December, maybe we should start developing something like CryptoDogs to see the maximum performance test of Ethereum Classic? Grin

Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash related and correlated to each other in the same bubble of price/ capital.
It's hard to say but Ethereum Classic and Ethereum have almost the same patterns of price fluctuations as of Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.
I think it takes more time, more waves of price movements to identify the pattern more solidly, but I guess this is one of possible theory.

Changing a little the subject and returning to the subject of adhesion of the ETC i read some comments that this currency depends on the circumstances of the market varying its conditions. In my opinion maybe I'm wrong to say that i do not agree with this analysis and i will mention just below why.

Bitcoin depends on the circumstances of the market to survive knowing that one day his values were of cents.

Conventional Ethereum depends on the circumstances of the market knowing that one day its prices exceeded $1200;

Does Bitcoin Cash depend on market circumstances or does it depend on policies and marketing to support itself?

What i want to say is that the market has no power over the digital currency or it has the right to give some value but the value whoever we assign is us. So any digital coin worth has any value depends on our to our emotions and feelings for it. Overall Ethereum Classic has to awaken some feeling of power and victory in investors such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.

@big_daddy
asic-proof is a bad word, better is asic-resistant;
now making Ethash dager-hashimoto asics is least profitable, but probably someday a new method will be find to build asic much cheaper.

Hi Smiley
Welcome to mining pool for Ethereum Classic (ETC): http://pool.baikalmine.com/en/etc/

thank you for the given link to Baikalmine pool.
Nevertheless, it is clearly that mining Ethereum Classic is un-profitable choice at current period of mining industry.

The fact is that bitmain (and other companies) are manifacturing ethash ASICs so you can bet that GPU mining will be not worth anymore. Imagine when eth will go full PoS and all those ASICs will mine ETC

Dont spread fud
There is no asic daggerhashimoto on the market
The bitmain “asic” is build with modded gpus

Daggerhasimoto is still asic proof thank to the dag file

Ethereum Classic got anything up its sleeve for eventual ETH hard fork shift to POS?  Current Eth chain could result in a new beast to challenge ETC - pure speculation mind you, nothing is clear other than there have been substntial sell offs.

Well ETC will stay as POW,  so people hope some miners will move their rigs towards ETC

ETH hash power is going down, looks like we can expect miners movement even faster. accumulated 200 more ETC during last week. lets rock

Vitalik going to launch new hardfork in this year. So what will be with ETC after this hardfork? It will be alive and used or they just left this?

Nope, Constatinople is an upgrade not a contentius hard fork. The chain will "split" but the chain without upgrades will die since no one will mine it.
Constantinople will happen only if miners will signal it (I don't know in what percentamge, but definitely we won't see new blocks on the "old" chain)

I thought they will have new fork. As was planned they must have Constatinople in the end of October, but postponed to December now...

We should definitely wait until ETH will switch to POS, after that, a lot of miners will have to choose another coin for mining. ETC is very solid choice by the way.

so why wait the ETH POS? let's support ETC from now on
ETC has a perspective future, even better than ETH for sure

ETC has always a future as long there is continuous code development. New features can always be added and problematic one removed. ETH and ETC can coexist and can have their own path to mass adoption.

Nobody say that ETC is not perspective, but for more popularity, community needs some more events...
The main popularity will come when ETC will be listed on CoinBase, I guess.

We all heard few last years that ETC is perspective project. But I can't see any result of it development. Why there were no projects launched on ETC blockchain?

I think that it is difficult for Ethereum Classic to find a niche to differentiate itself – it is a general smart contract platform with legacy tech and little usage. I don’t believe it will be the winning chain in the long run.

it is a pity that the bottom could not resist and had to leave
I'll come back when the risk of attack will stable to stay less than 50%
https://www.crypto51.app

why don't developers think about security? They could rent Nicehash and mine ETC, costs almost no but they can remove the risks

https://whattomine.com/

I think they care quite a lot about the security but I guess they think that no further action is needed at this point. Its just a wild guess though. Otherwise it would sure be an option to just mine via rental contracts. I actually have to agree that the ETH  switch to PoS could be a major turning point for both projects
