The Labour Party are divided like Ethereum and Classic.  Some want to be in Europe and want Blair ideology.  The other side lead by Corbyn wants decentralised bottom up politics. In “Prime Ministers Questions”, he reads emails from the public, directly at the Prime Mister.  Never been done before.
Exciting times here!  Pound down, so people are looking for something different.

That is the right way forward. Crypto is not mainstream yet, and governments are right to be wary (just pragmatism). However UK Labour is quite alternative in their outlook, so I guess they are into a number of maverick projects.

Realise this......... Barry and a few of his associates already own most of ETC.  After the crash coming in the next few weeks - they will own even more. This is the master plan.  ETC is FAR MORE CENTRALISED than ETH in terms of ownership.  I don't really care about this - live and let live. ETC will be pumped to hell after the crash.  SELL NOW - BUY BOTTOM - and sell after the pump - in 1-2 months.

Its up to you what you want to do - but don't try and lead others to their slaughter.

I am writing to my MP and local Education Authority to see if i can help get a Public Information Campaign off the ground to warn people of the Dangers of Crypto.  This whole chain off events is turning me from a campaigner in favour of crypto into a campaigner against crypto.

No i think you missed the point,  we mine to make the network secure.  Network Security matters more than price.  It is the platform for teaching and learning.   I was mining ETC before Poloniex listed it.  I will still mine it if they delist it.

The "value" since it escapes your mind is simply "profit" from mining - which you have espoused many times before as being important to you. Learn by all means - but don't forget to pay your gas bill.

Do XMR (monero) help people to get coding?  
The cool thing with ETC is you can take advantage of the low cost of "gas" for you to power your projects.  
Also, sCOOL_CLASSic program helps people to code.  I am learning for free and sharing my knowledge for free.  
I'm a 50 year old housewife so if i can do it, anyone can.  How COOL is that?

We will soon all be writing smart contracts.  The more people know, the better we can check each others work and have understanding.
Ethereum Classic is a revolution, you don't have to be just a passenger in ETC.  Anyone can get involved,  It's not just all about making devs rich. It's about making people rich in knowledge.  Anyone can develop here. Put a value on that?

I think its far better to mine XMR (monero) for now - its organic flow to best return

Something is wrong with the pools. They might be DDosed.

So it is  better to mine the ETC solo. That is much safer option at present.

@greenuser VERY COOL!  Thank you!  It reports back that my etherbase address shown in Mist is my address.  So I just have to wait to hit a block!  Thanks again for the info and link.  

Looks ok my end.  Pools being DDoSd, oh well, i have to sleep.  Keep hashing, if the hashrate falls so will the diff.  You may catch that block quicker than you expected.  

The network hash rate on etcstats is falling like a ROCK!  Not sure what is going on, and it is taking a long time on the commits right now. Anyone else seeing this?

That's right, you are automatically mining to your main geth address as shown in mist.  Mist is just a GUI for geth.  You can control and do all the wallet functions in command prompt with code and without using mist.

If you want to find out your address point a new command prompt window at geth and type in

In the geth window I do see the imported 1 block and the commit new work on block lines.  So it looks like it it getting and committing work.  Still no blocks found yet it appears.   Now I need to get some more hashing power! 

I get 25 peers in Mist.  My internet connection seems to be solid.  Hash rate reported in the Claymore miner has been rock solid since trying solo.  I am impressed with that.  I just have to wait to see if I get lucky and hit a block I guess.  I didn't see anything that I needed to put in the geth command line to specify the ethbase address.  So I assume it knows what the address is that it is mining to.  

I need some patience... I will have to run down to the store and see if I can buy some!
