Do you people know of this?

The Mist wallet, which acts as a solution for Both Ethereum and Ethereum Classic, contains a bug when dealing with Shapeshift transactions. For ETC users, the Mist wallet seems to be taking a cut for every transaction to and from Shapeshift.  Huh

I can't remember if i got it on this thread.

News out about the recent Mist client mods to support ETC.  Looks like we are getting scammed.  Or at least skimmed.

So can we get our own affiliate link so that we can use this to fund our own development?

https://changelly.com/ is a good alternative to https://shapeshift.io but the devs could strike a deal.

you can choose to search "profitability over 24h, 3days, 7days" also are you putting in your power costs?

Im just renting some hash and pointing it to a pool... Thanks i will just wait and see

Anyone mining notice the difference in payouts compared to whattomine.com? Im getting less then half of what it say i should have...

Yes, Randyh replied to this question as I also asked it earlier.  And the answer is that they are trying to use transaction times over a period of time to determine the hash rates and payments based on the changing price...

In other words when the market is volatile the What To Mine numbers get way off... The steadier the price and transaction rates over time the closer WTM is with its estimates... So WTM is really a best guess at this point and you really can't tell what your going to get until you point at some pools and see what the calculation comes back with for reward.

So right now trying to use WTM to figure out what is the most profitable doesn't work very well. I am sure it will get better as we see things settle down over time with ETC.

Right at this moment my pool is reporting I am earning more than WTM states, but over the past week it has been just the opposite... So you just have to check for yourself on the pool to validate.

Oh i see.. Ok thank you very much, ill just see after 24h whats the result

Some pools offer 0% fees on the front-end. However, how can you verify you are getting the credit you deserve?

You are not arguing, at least I don't perceive your posts as such. Assuming dagger hashimoto is the way to go and since it's ASIC resistance, could the algorithm be rewritten in order to limit the amount of hashing power needed to operate, thus limiting it's use to home owners and not mining rigs?

I don't know if there is a good way to set the upper limit of some sort or otherwise favor a small miner vs a big miner. Typically what's profitable for 1 GPU will be profitable for 1000 GPUs (or CPUs, or ASICs).

Nor do I think that's really necessary. Small miners have lower overhead and can still compete as long as the equipment cost is not prohibitive (e.g. a $2000 ASIC).

I still have the crowdfund json file laid there untouched. So can I get the same amount of ETH and ETC now? (eg. I have 100 ETH  from crowdfund in the json file, now I can get 100 ETH and 100 ETC at the same time now.) If so, what's safest and easiest way to operate, so far. Thanx.

No, the community is not for 100%pos. This is a mistake to do so.

It needs to be pow/pos

I agree a hybrid PoW/PoS is good compromise.  However, it would be cool if it had more than iust one PoW algorythem, how you would intergrate that into the network i don't know. But being able to mine ETC with a sha-256 ASIC or a scrypt ASIC, a GPU, CPU or HHD even would open up the coin to even more people.   I hear you can mine Burstcoin with a phone as long as it has a reasonable size memory card in it.

The more inclusive we make this coin, the more peolpe will use it.

As far as i know https://changelly.com/  is the only current way change coin without having ID and anonymously.

Well at least until we get a coin mixer.

@ocminer

my 7 rig currently running on your pool for etc, each rig shows about 80-84 hashratem but total at your page its only constant 400.. anything wrong here? hmm

Whats displayed in "My account" - > "my workers" ? If everything is good there and the payouts are ok, your fine, the stats on the frontpage are updated every 30 seconds so you may see some lag there.

3 x 50ish, 3 x 60ish, 1 x 80ish..

hmm, just checked my rigs and they're all matching up nicely.

Be sure to use stratum, i recommend genoil 1.1.6 (nicehash) and point it to the "3333" port e.h. etc-eu.suprnova.cc:3333 or etc-us.suprnova.cc:3333 and allow about 15-20 mins after startup to get the correct hashrate displayed.

Getwork produces a lot of stales from my experience, stratum is much better.

I'm using etc-us.suprnova.cc:3333 with CDM version 5.3, hmm.. maybe I'll let it run awhile more and see if there's any difference =). do let me know if there are any problem with the version I use that might cause it.. thanks =)

Ah Claymore ? Should be fine also, allthough in my personal experience genoil's is a bit faster, but thats probably the thing with dual mining... It's normal that it is a bit slower when mining dual

and don't forget CDM switched over to mine dev fee. this will result in false displayed hashrates at miner looks like it is constant in hashrate, but the poolswitch takes time and reduce the hashrate to etc network. (change DAG-File, switch pool) so it is not so fast as displayed in miner ...
with this fact genoils ethminer is quite faster !
if you want to dualmine, use one screen session with ethminer and a second to mine decred with sgminer -I 18 this let ethminer hash drop nearly 0 % down...

Thanks, that's correct, cdm disconnects from the pool at certain times and mines for dev too
