These were the funds mistakenly sent to the dao 7 days ago, right after the hardfork. 1 hour earlier before going back to the dao, 38K of ETH had been received by the contract during the normal refund operation.

This contract has also participated in draining and, as seen in the history, has been sending and receiving neat chunks of dao to and from multiple dao contracts until they were cleared of dao tokens.

Any guesses if they'll fork again to rescue these funds? Why not? The precedent is there.

Hash rate is all over the map. Only way I can predict is by block times.

Has anyone else had a problem with the estimates from "What To Mine"?  No matter what they quote I never see anything close to the figures they post.  Like right now they say ETC is the best coin to mine.  But their figures for both the reward and dollar figures are still way off from what I see.  Is it just me or does everyone see the same thing?

I think it's probably because of the constant significantly shifting hashrate of the ETC network right now. Lot of rented power moving on and off the pools.

This is how you get to appdata. Then rename ethereum and mist. $ is probably wrong since it's an eth wallet

Chinese Exchange Yunbi Lost 40,000 ETC Over Chain Vulnerability

http://www.altcointoday.com/chinese-exchange-yunbi-lost-40000-etc/

LOL, Just reading the articles it's easy to see the bias. Nothing but an ETH shill site. Yunbi lost coins because they are morons, and they are stating they will cover losses when they have no choice as if they are being kind.

which wallet did you install? mist? jaxx?

Not mist but https://github.com/ethereum/mist/releases

https://github.com/ethereum/mist/releases/download/0.8.1/Ethereum-Wallet-win64-0-8-1.zip

I don't know how they're different. Ethereum sucks compared to btc. I can't even see my transactions wtf?

so Ethereum-Wallet-win64-0-8-1.zip will work on eth classic?

Seems to work for me. It uses geth 1.4.10 and asks about the fork.

This is how I got a wallet.

Not mist but https://github.com/ethereum/mist/releases

https://github.com/ethereum/mist/releases/download/0.8.1/Ethereum-Wallet-win64-0-8-1.zip

You can't have the updated blockchain though. So if you already had this software you need to rename Mist and Ethereum in appdata to start fresh and choose no fork. Also backup your old ones and you'll be safe.

I don't know how they're different. Ethereum sucks compared to btc. I can't even see my transactions wtf?

You don't even need to trust us since we're using eth code. Ethf had to get new code not ethc.

So I need to download a new copy 0-8-1 for Windows and select no fork.. Then it must re-sync the whole blockchain correct? OK then my question is when you deposit some either classic is it normal when you select to see the $ amount for it to be incorrect? Is anyone working on a new wallet just for classic? I ask because I am thinking I might just wait.. But I got a few hundred sitting on polinex I would like to withdraw.. Also for the newbies like me.. You lost me about the part if you had already downloaded you must change some of the file names? I think we need a step by step process on this process

dump aggain huh?? #%*!(&#%*())#^)!(#^)

Don't worry m8, there will be dumps for a while.
Reason is, more exchanges add the coin or release the ETC's for their customers.
They will go to ETC participating exchanges and sell for free money; as a majority of sellers were looking for, free easiest money.
Only a handful of exchanges have either added or released funds so we can see dumps for a few more days, if not a few weeks.

I never wanted to sell my ETH but I favor immutability by a long shot.

Keep up with the saga on PoloTrex.com

My post was deleted. Not that it was on topic  Grin

Anyway, I don't see how anyone can claim this to be a scam. It is the original chain after all...

ΞPool

New large stratum added to epool. This should prevent the disconnects now.

is it true that ETC coin supply  is more less coins than ETH.
after the fork (block 1920000) the wallet holders with coins have only ETH and not ETC.
the account holders on exchange have both ETH and ETC. So i was thinking there is more ETH coins than ETC.

EDIT: Think I misunderstood. The ETH chain is a higher block number, so yes, there's more ETH than ETC.

thanks, this means ETC have more value

yea...thats right..and its reaaaal cheap ...maybe you should buy some more  Smiley

The difference in the number of coins is pretty small. At the point of the fork both chains had an identical number of coins, so the difference is only about 16,000 coins.

There are probably many coins that weren't held on exchanges that may never be touched on the ETC blockchain as the users may be unable (don't understand how to) or unwilling to use them.

I have some Ether from before the fork. I use https://www.myetherwallet.com. I can download the JSON file there. But how can I use it with my wallet? I have installed the wallet and clicked NO, so i'm on the correct fork. I tried to edit the current wallet-file and put the data of the downloaded JSON from myetherwallet.com in there. After that I can see my balance, but I can't send ETC. It gives an error. Something with version 2 of the wallet and it needs to be version 3. Anyone can help me out?

Maybe try https://elaineo.github.io/etherwallet/

Thanks, this'll work.
Strange. I tried to send 1 ETC to my main account (Ether Base) in my Windows 10 Software wallet. I see on classicetherwallet.com that I have 1 ETC less than before, but it does not show up in my wallet. Also it does not show up on http://gastracker.io/. When I create another wallet on classicetherwallet.com and I send something to that wallet it does show up there (but not on gastracker). Anyone knows what's up? I did use the Replay protection-sending option.
Nevermind. It took some time, but the ETC showed up in my wallet and on gastracker as well. Don't know why, but it took quite some time.

BTC-e’s official standpoint on this issue is as follows: Ethereum Classic in the current circumstances is a scam.

Who is BTC-e's CEO? Oh, that's right, nobody knows. (And to pre-empt the Satoshi argument I see coming, people did not invest their money in him but in transparent code.)
