Is something brewing for Ethereum? This coin have been steadily climbing upwards since it fell below 0.0019. Hopefully, 2016 will be a good year for Ethereum unlike last year where ICO holders cashed out.

Yes, the rise is quite steady and with slow pace. The whales are quite experience. They are accumulating without moving the price.

lol you need them to CARE about eth first....

Is there any news about the new etherminer which can handle big DAG file size. The DAG file is over 1280MB now.

Great news, even though Ethereum has a good volume of trading adding another exchange won't hurt.
This is definitely a good year for Ethereum.

Is it just me or did c-cex.com open Ethereum trading market ?!! I like them because no issues with KYC etc unlike other platforms for fiat (my personal belief of how crypto should be !) + almost real time support which makes it an awesome combo. Can anybody else see the market there ?

Yes it is. I can see it as well on C-Cex.com. Never thought that they would come up and add Ether as well. However, C-Cex is not listed on Coinmarketcap as an exchange for Ether under the markets tab. Maybe they haven't noticed it yet. More markets, means more movement in marketcap and users. Just sharing my opinion.  Grin

Awesome !! Maybe coincapmaket will pick it up in a day or two, gonnaa move my ETH to c-cex now Cheesy ... polo and kraken have way too long confs

i'm guessing the .dat file is the wallet file i need to back up like i would BTC or DASH etc?
thanks in advance

Well, in Ethereum to make a backup of your wallet, all you would do is go to your appdata directory (if you are on Windows) and save the Keystore directory. After you have copied the Keystore directory to some place safe like an external HDD or a pendrive, you will have your wallet fully backed up as the Keystore directory contains the public and private keys. Hope this helps. Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong.  Wink

I only back up the files within the Keystore memory, the long file name ones, is that right?
Yes this is correct file , where a long line and where the date of creation and address
take it and save it along with the recorded password in a convenient place, but so no one found out but you didn't miss anything

Ive been following ethereum for a long while now and it is indeed quite a complex system. I have been trying to adapt it for an academic project. Problem i have for the moment is understanding a bit more about writing contracts. Ive also been looking at eris etc. Id probably like to fork my own at some point and really mess arojnd. Will keep reading. If anyone has some good info to help me out regarding assets, planning, management etc hit me up!

I only back up the file inside the keystore folder. If I copy the file to another computer, I can send money from there.

This is a great initiative from this London startup. It will definitely bring more interest to people out there who don't know what Bitcoin is, and how it works. This will make a positive trend towards mainstream adoption. And the best part is that is powered by the Ethereum platform. A clever way to spread awareness of crypto currencies.  Grin
