Fix: Re-installation of the geth client using the PPA, the brew bottle “brew reinstall ethereum” or windows direct download. If you are building from source make sure you are on commit

use "eth" geth is bugged.. Geth is unfortunately heavily used, i've developed my testpool also on geth, i'm switching to eth now.
