That's a long time. Especially when the initial date was 1st of February.
Oh trust me, I agree - we'd love nothing more than to start ASAP however we need to get the structure right so that it's done 'by the book' and is a success for everyone.

So will the Ether bought by investors at IPO be frozen until Q4 2014?Won't investors be able to trade ether until then?
Will the ethereum economy be frozen until the Mainet goes live?
Correct, what people would be buying is actual Ether, not testnet Ether, therefore what is purchased would be listed on exchanges/tradeable only at the start of the mainnet in Q4.

Time is money. How can a coin plan this long time? Just dont like EMU which has been delayed much time and lost many fans.

The supply does not double every 7 years, in fact inflation decreases every year, eventually trending to 0.

Any update about IPO?
Has anyone been able to define some clear hardware specs as to what is needed for ethereum? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
If you kind of read between the lines, it's going to be a coin (i think) dominated by botnets and the AWS mills. It seems to be a CPU + Lots of Memory thing. If you read through their forums (and reddits) they seem to have shifted from a position that GPUs could mine it (with maybe slight advantage) to not supporting it and encouraging CPU usage.
When they've been asked about that, they just seem to point towards the IPO distribution chart (and don't really dispute that botnets will likely rule Eth), which if you read between the lines says to me that if you're a small-time miner, buy the coins! Shame, in my opinion.

A good CPU probably. We don't know anymore than that. There will be plenty of time to find out, as it wont be released for almost a year!
