When market is start bleeding then we should understand that big whales arrived and they are trying best to fill up bag with coins.
But some weak hands sell their coin at cheap prices even they bought in higher price, well never sell HODL and buy at every dip.
Ethereum again sitting behind XRP but no worry ETH will take 2nd positive after hardfork. 

well said whales are doing their best to take all the coins they can ... keep hodling we had similar situation back those days in 2013... this is 2019 while fiat is depreciating we need cryptos which actually increases in value over time... its amazing how crypto spiked in december 2017 it was around same level of 4000 usd and in 3 months it went to 20k.. this is what happens in crypto space...

You shall no fear, the whole market plunged, and whales are probably taking advantage to fill their bags. I think there will be a considerable movement upwards in ETH's price as only couple of days are remaining till the hardfork takes place.

What are you talking about? Ethereum's nethash is over 20 times bigger than ETC.
ETC is a dead coin in zombie-mode with a market cap full of air, let it die completely and be done with it.

Ethereum cannot be attacked yet, but I'm sure it has a lot of ASIC miners already.
The problem will occur only if some time in the future more ASICs are manufactured, the mining difficulty increases to high levels for GPU miners and somewhen around May when even GPU miners with free power can't mine with 1060 cards because of the DAG size, a lot of GPUs leave the network.
If at that point the ASICs are controlled by a single entity, only then we may have a 51% attack problem.

But by that time Ethereum should have forked to ProgPOW... but I don't know how resistant is this ProgPOW. After all, ASICs can be created for everything. The goal is to make their effectiveness as low as possible in order to discourage their creation and/or keep a balance between ASICs and GPUs in the same network.

It is hard to pull down ETH further as the fork is a solid reason to hold it and even after the fork because POS is happening soon. I believe this would be the cheapest ETH before further going up again.

ETH will retake that number 2 spot in a week.

I doubt Ethereum will go down below $100 ! This is more likely the case of whales manipulating the market to secure some more ETH bags , for the upcoming eth fork in 6 days.  

Just try to make sure if you guys have prepared your ethereum before hybrid POS system. If the minimum staking amount for ethereum will be 32 ether as the minimum amount and then we will have a lot of ethereum to be locked in the network. That's my point in the future of ethereum.

Ethereum again took the 3rd place in the world ranking, now urgent support is needed for Ethereum. If this does not happen, Ethereum may again drop below $ 100.

It doesn't matter why whales are manipulating the markets but this is golden opportunity for those who believe in the future of ETH. I think it is right time to fill our bags and get ready for big move that will happen really soon.

yes you are right this is a great opportunity to buy. Don't be cheaply affected by the conditions on the market today. big whales want to get profits early in the year. and this is one of their ways to make a profit. keep in mind the market until the end of the month don't let you regret being late

I think we should watch this upcoming HF event and concentrate should be on it. I am not concerned of changes in price as this can reverse anytime. I hope the required results will be acquired with this HF even there was lost of testing before it to be implemented on mainnet. Ethereum will make significant move once the stability of network and results are confirmed in post HF era.

Thats the thing the whole 2018 year we had good news but it dumped the strong reason behind this is that the people who are selling they will pump it some point of time its like they are accumulating bitcoins... bitcoin will be at certain levels between 15k to 20k this year but it could also be we might have the level which is stagnant and might have to wait... lot of thing are in pipeline the etf etc the institution money coming into cryptos .. it all depends on how USA treats the future of currency if they decide not to accept Etf from Cryptos then we might see some dip and remain stagnant for entire year untill the next bull run begins. The market also reacts when bitmex buys and sell cryptos cuz many people short bitcoin and have contract for long... same with cboe its all happening due to manipulation nothing causes it bad news cryptos always had good news so far..
The panic which you are witnessing right now its just a manipulation to buy bitcoins cheaper the people who are crying bottom and have been spreading the news for new bottom again they are the one who wants to buy bitcoin at levels they can get in to pump back up to higher levels... so cryptos have manipulation from various high profile... we have to hodl this and dont sell u.s currency right now is dipping many currency around the world are showing poor progress if your own fiat currency which you hold whether it is euro or yen what you buy right now wont be the same price in future means your fiat currency devalues you as well but bitcoin does not work similarly it actually works against the inflation and helps you to get more out of money you hold..
we might need more money powered engine like BAKKT which can beat Bitmex but it again depends on USA to understand the technology.

That is very common action of big whales when it stay on same level for few days than they play like this. Have patience nothing wrong going on behind the scene from my point of view this is time to buy on low price and avail this opportunity.

What happened with price today? ETH dumped in more than 10%... other altcoins fallen too.. But I dont see any negative news 

That is temporary situation talking about change in positions on CMC and in short term this rotation will continue. I am not looking at this but the drop in price of Ethereum which probably slipped under support according to some charts makers. Immediate my focus is on Hard fork and then recovery of market if this was temporary pull back or something else will be clear sooner.

After few days Ethereum again slipped from 2nd position as it dropped below $150. Today XRP is showing good performance and not losing too its value quickly but this is timely matter sooner it will be into its momentum.
