Ethereum is the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap and has outperformed bitcoin on a year-over-year basis. The digital asset does not yet command the respect that bitcoin does, but a new study shows that this will soon change. According to findings, Bitcoin may see itself replaced by Ethereum as the better inflation hedge.

At this point, everyone has already branded the Gearbox airdrop. Those who are reading this in the hope of getting an airdrop, don't worry, the event has already passed and you wont get it.
I also didn't receive an airdrop but I suggest that you familiarize yourself with what you may need.

Actually, what is Gearbox?
Gearbox is a generalized leverage protocol: it allows you to take leverage in one place and then use it across various DeFi protocols and platforms in a composable way. That could be:
margin trading on Uniswap and Sushiswap;
leverage farming on Yearn;
arbitraging pegged assets on Curve, and more!

Gearbox does not silo the assets within its protocol. All trades and operations happen on third-party protocols: Uniswap, Curve, Yearn, etc. Needless to say, your assets never end up in some custody or under anyone’s control. Gearbox is not a trading platform. The protocol does not execute trades or have its own order books.

The core vision is to become a backend composable leverage protocol which all kinds of users have but don’t even need to interact directly with. You can envision building your own DeFi protocol and making a “take leverage from Gearbox” button. And bam — your users are now more capital efficient. Or integrate Gearbox into a platform like Zerion or Zapper.

A look inside Gearbox Protocol
Gearbox protocol has two sides to it:
Lenders — liquidity providers who seek additional yield and have a higher risk tolerance. This can be seen similar to providing liquidity to Compound and getting cTokens back.
Borrowers — traders or farmers who wish to increase their positions by borrowing liquidity from the protocol, for which they pay an interest rate. But the liquidity they borrow is 2–4x+ or more of what their notional size is. This is the leverage they get.

https://medium.com/gearbox-protocol/hello-world-this-is-gearbox-generalized-leverage-protocol-cbec5f34bb98

I saw the information in the chat that in order to claim the Gearbox award, all users in total spent about $ 7.3M on the ethereum network commission, which has recently become a kind of record.
I wonder who counted all this? there are more than 5 thousand transactions in the same place.

Metis still has an incredibly low market cap due to mainstream attention only getting started as we speak. And the fact that they already have put together a $100M fund from VCs (managed by Vitaliks mother) to support just the Metis ecosystem is simply insane. Binance was one of their $1M hackathon sponsors. They already have more than 60 partners from the fields of DeFi, NFT, DAO, Gaming, Metaverse, Launchpads, Infrastructure, SocialFi and Web2 onboarded and have a huge backlog of projects waiting to be implemented. The CEO Elena and Natalia, Vitaliks mother, are deeply connected within the ETH community and also helped Aave to become what it is today. Needless to say Aave is being integrated into Metis at this moment. They managed to secure sponsorships by the likes of Microsoft, IBM and the Royal Bank of Canada for their Cryptochicks organisation, and “coincidentally” the Metis team gave a presentaion of their tech to the Royal Bank. We can probably expect a whole lot in the future.

I do not have a crystal ball nor am I am financial or crypto expert but in my opinion 24 months at maximum would not be unachievable.

This is still a great investment because it still has yet to hit the $10,000 barrier which it inevitably will do....
Definitely will do, but when? Next year or year after or maybe 5-6 years from now?  Wink

Data shows that Ether traders are more confident than Bitcoin traders. The asset currently shows a higher future base rate. Furthermore, the improvement in the long and short positions of major traders since October 5th signals confidence in a delicate period.

I particularly believe that ETH will positively surprise us over time.

Fuck I only used like 7 or 8 dapps and didn't get the Airdrop Sad

Such a shame. Also considered creating a .eth for ENS a few years ago but ended up being too lazy. FML

I am not happy with the price of Bitcoin going from c.$70,000 to c.$48,000 in a few weeks but with the market so unstable Ethereum is doing very well holding up with a price of $4000+ throughout.

This is still a great investment because it still has yet to hit the $10,000 barrier which it inevitably will do....

Is that a sarcastic comment?  Grin
No, but yes  Grin Grin

Anyway, the other day I did an ETH tx from my MEW as the gas fee was relatively low like about $5, that is if you are transferring ETH only. But for other tokens, I believe, it is still high.
ETH tx fee is still killing, it will be getting lower to at least around only 60 gwei and will change every second.
I have ever transferred the ERC20 token for around $24 a month ago, have tried to wait for a lower fee but this seems to be a lower fee during some days at that time. Higher amount, higher fees Grin
Well, so far, transaction fees still become one of the main problems faced by the Ethereum network.

ETH 2.0 development guide presented by Vitalik, the co-founder of Ethereum. He has definite his arrangements to elevate the upcoming ETH 2.0 upgrade. Anyway, He's been saying this beginning around 2016, might be 2022 is finish year!

It won't ever quit upgrading. After 2.0 possible 3.0? New features arrive, I'm almost certain it's not the finish of the story! Just HODL!

ETC will pick up the pieces :-D ETH ded<===

Hoping that one day, we will finally see cheaper gas fees because this is all what we have been waiting for.
Though their developments seem slow but we know for sure, they are doing something behind the curtain. This is why people still trust on this project.
